Prepping 101: Best Price on Survival Food
BY Paul Helinski Published: July 1, 2016 { 0 comments }The most shameful way to make money is by taking advantage of someone who doesn’t know any better. In the prepper and survival world, that equals almost everyone in the market. Because no matter much you would normally research a purchase before making it, almost all of us rush out and buy “survival food” before just about anything else. I did that myself, and even sent some to friends and relatives. But after a little research, I figured out that survival food is a scam.
CZ Scorpion – Now in Carbine – EVO 3 S1 9mm – Full Test
BY Jon Hodoway Published: July 1, 2016 { 46 comments }Of the new crop of semiautomatic 9mm carbines on the market today, this one has got to be my current favorite. The gun is intuitive to shoot, aesthetically pleasing, light, and fast. The current MSRP is $1,049.00, and the CZ Scorpion compares well to other guns on the market in this price range.
Beretta .40 PX4 Storm Pistol – A Closer Look – Range Report
BY Tom McHale Published: June 30, 2016 { 32 comments }One of the standout features of the Beretta PX4 Storm is the rotary action short recoil system. Like most other 9mm and up centerfire pistols, it uses a short recoil system that temporarily locks the slide and barrel together for a hot second during recoil, allowing the pressure to drop to manageable levels. After a fraction of an inch of rearward travel together, the slide and barrel separate, allowing extraction of the cartridge, recocking, and chambering of a new one. The PX4 just goes about that locking and unlocking process in a very different way with the rotary system.
Henry Big Boy Carbine .44 Mag. – Classic Looks & Ranch Rifle Function – Full Review
BY Sam Trisler Published: June 28, 2016 { 30 comments }To put it simply, Henry Rifles look cool. Maybe it is a Country-Boy-Hipster-Thing, but brass framed lever guns have that certain something that not only appeals to my gun loving side, but also to my functional art side. This is a slick looking rifle that, most importantly, is a hell of a shooter.

Prepping 101: Is This the END? – Brexit in Context
BY Paul Helinski Published: June 25, 2016 { 0 comments }Since we haven’t devolved into Prepper theory for a while, I thought today would be a good day. As I write this, the markets have just closed Friday, after Great Britain voted to leave the European Union. You are probably reading this on Monday, after our weekly GunsAmerica Digest goes out. Probably the markets are crashing, but I’m not a prophet. Our so financial and monetary system is so strung out, who knows if the end of the giant game of musical chairs game is today. But more importantly, our question here is, if you haven’t done the work of preparing for the collapse, is it *today* too late?
Reloading: Powder, Propellants, and Pressure
BY Tom McHale Published: June 24, 2016 { 15 comments }When it comes to reloading, the powder is the biggest variable. Not only do you need to worry about the exact amount of powder in a charge, you also need to consider the type of powder. By my rough count, and this is not at all official, there are somewhere around 150 types of powder on the market.
