A school resource officer in Illinois is being hailed as a hero after he successfully subdued an armed intruder who fired several shots near a crowded gymnasium.

A new report from the FBI has found that of the 50 “active shooter incidents” in 2016 and 2017, individuals with valid firearm permits successfully stopped four of them. Meaning, good guys with guns saved lives.

If the National Rifle Association “stifles” research into firearm use, the Clinton-era Centers for Disease Control buried it in the backyard and burned the map.

A would-be thief in Memphis tried one of the oldest tricks in the book last weekend, but he didn’t count on his target being armed.

“If the officer was truly in harm’s way and he was going to die, she had the right to defend him,” Maislin said. “But over and over what we have is a story of somebody engaging somebody else and claiming self-defense.”

Details are still emerging but early reports indicate that an armed school resource officer stopped an active shooter at Great Mills High School in Maryland Tuesday morning.

Bail agent Chasity Dawn Carey shot and killed 38-year-old Brandon James Williams while attempting to take him into custody last August.  The incident was caught on camera.  See video below.  Viewer discretion is advised.

“I started bending down to put it on the ground,” Garces said. “I didn’t want to drop it. It would go off. That’s when he shot me.”

“The clerks did an outstanding job of fighting him,” Tulsa Police Sgt. Dave Walker told KJRH.
