Now, there are multitudes of wonderful cartridges out there, and I’ll confess to having a love affair with many of them. But for sheer versatility mixed with get-’er-done authority, my vote still goes to the venerable 30-’06. It doesn’t posses the smashing capabilities of the magnums, but neither does it pack the kick.

It’s a pity. For a variety of reasons related to its poor governance, Connecticut is losing the very residents it needs to pay the bills and at a truly alarming rate. 

Stance matters a lot less than you might think. All a “shooting stance” needs to do is position your body weight to control recoil and keep you mobile.

We’re gun people, but if we gun people are anything, we’re also knife people. And if there’s any tool that virtually every one of us is carrying, it’s a folding knife.

Learning to be competent with a gun isn’t rocket science, but it is going to require some hard work on your part. And there are no shortcuts.

This is probably not a surprise to any of my regular readers, but I am a bit of an optics snob. I am a hater of Weaver style bases, and I will make no apologies. If I could wave my magic wand and make one firearms accessory disappear, it would be anything with a Weaver slot. Why so hateful? Glad you asked.
