BY Dick Jones Published: August 2, 2017 { 27 comments }For several years, gun writers ignored revolvers. This is reasonable because there has been a renaissance of creativity in firearms design in this same period. There has been a steady, but declining market for wheelguns, but the surge of interest in defensive concealed carry has brought new interest to these simple and reliable guns.
Cowboy Time Machine: Legendary Bat Masterson, Colt Single Actions & Wyatt Earp – Part 2
BY Dennis Adler Published: July 26, 2017 { 7 comments }There is an old adage that “there are bold gunfighters and there are old gunfighters, but that there are no old, bold gunfighters.” Bat Masterson was one of the few exceptions. Long after Dodge City was behind him Bat kept the legend alive, not as a gunfighter or lawman but as a journalist; proof perhaps, that the pen is indeed mightier than the sword, or the gun!

All revolvers made according to the agreement were to be marked COLT/BREVETE as proof of “licensed” manufacture.

Rebirth of the Rampant Colt? The Combat Unit 9mm – Full Review.
BY Justin Opinion Published: March 9, 2017 { 34 comments }The evaluation copy of the Combat Unit came to me chambered in 9mm. It is also offered in the traditional .45 ACP. What you get from 9mm is an extra round of capacity from a standard sized magazine, and less recoil. Much less recoil in fact, because shooting 9mm in a 40-ounce handgun almost feels like it should have an orange muzzle. Add in the inherent ergonomics of the 1911 and the brilliant extras added by Colt and it’s downright fun.
