Kahr Arms is best known for concealed carry pistols, and that is exactly what they brought to the party this year. The CM line of pistols has new colors, and some new upgrades. The color is Tungsten Grey, with gray most certainly being the favorite new color of the gun industry. The Kahr Arms Tungsten is a darker gray, with a matte finish. It makes for a beautiful gun, and I am starting to really dig this “guns don’t always have to be black” attitude.

In one of the biggest surprises of the SHOT Show, Colt has updated the Gold Cup 1911. Fully updated for 2017, the Gold Cup Tropy is going to make 1911 fans very happy. The gun is beautiful in the stainless steel finish we shot. It looks absolutely gorgeous. The sights are a Bo-Mar rear, with a Novak fiber optic front. Every model comes with a national match barrel, and from the factory is available in 9mm or .45 ACP.

Each of these variables can have a dramatic impact on the performance, and safety, of any given load. In other words, loading recipe data for one 147-grain, .308 bullet may be incorrect, and even unsafe, for another projectile of equal caliber and weight.
