I think calling the B-14R perfect would be a little pretentious but I believe it represents the absolute best bang for the buck if you want to mirror your Remington 700 in .22LR form.

The first time I ever heard the Bergara name was at a friend’s house, examining his new custom bolt gun that he said had a very accurate but rare barrel from a company in Spain.  I wasn’t reacquainted with the Bergara brand until a long time after that when I was given the opportunity to review Bergara’s Premier LRP and HMR rifles.

The Premier line has more standardized features to make the rifle’s price point more attractive to people who would like to have Bergara crafstmanship without the Custom Series cost.

Not that long ago if you had asked me to find a rifle with a street price under $1,000 that had a fully adjustable stock with a detachable magazine system, was suppressor capable, was compatible with some Remington 700 parts, and had a 1 MOA guarantee, I would’ve said no way. However, Bergara USA has delivered just such a rifle in the form of their B-14 Hunting/Match Rifle.

In the United States, Bergara isn’t exactly a household name, but the fact of the matter is that this Spanish-based company is a large OEM provider of barrels to some of the best-known brands in the business. Bergara has started to offer a line of rifles that can be found under their Bergara Premier line, and for review we have their LRP rifle chambered in .308 Winchester in hand for testing.
