The TG-H3 looks a bit out of place on this beastly shotgun. If I were more vain, it wouldn’t be my first choice for a lever action anything. But I wasn’t concerned about the look. The Truglo TG-H3 is a bad-ass sight. It is long, and wide. It installs on a 12 gauge barrel fairly easily, and it combines Tritium and fiber optic technologies for one radiant sight.

Truglo Tritium Fiber Optic Combo: TG-H3 Review
BY Dave Higginbotham Published: September 7, 2014 { 4 comments }Shoot One Mile for Just Over One Grand
BY Dave Higginbotham Published: August 10, 2014 { 64 comments }I just checked on-line. A Savage Model 111 Long Range Hunter Rifle chambered in .300 Win Mag with a 26″ Barrel and equipped with an AccuTrigger, an AccuStock, and an adjustable comb, sells for $863. A Lucid L5 6x-24 50MM Rifle Scope can be found for $327. Yours Truly is no super sniper, military or law enforcement high-speed, low-drag, kind of guy, but I can consistently hit targets out to one mile with this set-up. This means you can too! And if you are a really disciplined shooter, your results should be phenomenal.
AR-15 Magazine Strip Loading Tool – StripLULA from MagLULA
BY GunsAmerica Actual Published: August 9, 2014 { 3 comments }If you shoot a lot most likely you buy your .223/5.56 ammo in bulk, as military surplus or overruns. Often this ammo comes on stripper clips, and in the metal box with the ammo is usually a couple magazine guides for those stripper clips. Theoretically you can slip the guide onto your magazine and simply slip the clip of ammunition into the top, then slide them in.
Nikon’s Dedicated AR-15 Scopes: the P223 4-12×40
BY Dave Higginbotham Published: August 3, 2014 { 12 comments }The Nikon P223 4-12×40 is a purpose built scope meant to handle the specific needs of long range AR shooter. The scope is designed around 55 grain, polymer tipped, .223 bullets. It is the longest of the Nikon AR scopes, and sets up some ambitious goals for the modern sporting rifle platform. But the price is right.
Steel Target Torture – Action Targets PT Tactical Torso
BY GunsAmerica Actual Published: July 31, 2014 { 4 comments }Believe it or not, a steel target is not something that you buy in anticipation of ultimately destroying it. Sure, we have all seen steel targets at the range that are shot up and shot through, but that is not what you should expect from a quality steel target. If the company engineers the target to not fail, and instructs you in the proper use of what the target can and can’t do, your target probably won’t even have any divots in it after a full day’s match. The key is to understand the nature of steel targets, and follow directions as to their limitations.
Premium Optics Solutions for the 300 AAC Blackout
BY Tom McHale Published: July 29, 2014 { 7 comments }There aren’t many 300 AAC Blackout specific optics on the market and I can guess why. Imagine trying to design a reticle that can accommodate the incredible variety of ballistic performance of that round. With 300 Blackout ammunition and reloading, there is no “standard” ballistic performance profile. What can you do?
Going the Distance with the Bushnell LRHS
BY Ian Kenney Published: July 22, 2014 { 0 comments }While the Bushnell LRHS is labeled as a “tactical hunter” it has all the right features for a scope that’s meant to go the distance, whether that be on a hunting rifle, semi auto, or precision bolt gun. I was fortunate enough to get one of these scopes for testing and I put it through its paces at the range and in competition.
Caldwell Brass Trap – Catcher – Product Review – Save Your Brass and Your Back!
BY GunsAmerica Actual Published: July 13, 2014 { 11 comments }Who hasn’t been at the range after an afternoon of shooting and dreaded picking up the brass? Sometimes you can just sweep it into a pile and use a shovel to scoop it into a bucket, but there are always the few that you have to bend over to get. If you shoot in your back yard as we do here in Florida, you have no cement floor and handy sweep up. Brass picking becomes a chore.
M1 Garand 16″ Bayonet Reproduction – Product Review
BY GunsAmerica Actual Published: July 3, 2014 { 12 comments }BudK https://www.budk.com/product/M1-Garand File this one under go figure. I am a big fan of the knife importer BudK and I was really excited when I saw that they are importing a reproduction of the Model 1942 US bayonet that was originally made for the M1 Garand, and that also fits the M1903 Springfield. The original [...]
