From a distance, the Burris AR-1X is just another red dot sight wrapped up in a different look, however that would be the incorrect assumption. This Burris AR-1X has features which make me feel that this may be one of the better red dots on the market. And it isn’t going to break the bank.

Crimson Trace Goes Green–SHOT Show 2015
BY Dave Higginbotham Published: February 5, 2015 { 10 comments }Lasers on guns are growing increasingly popular. I’m seeing Crimson Trace grips on many of the guns coming in for review. And as I get used to them, I’m starting to see their appeal. And now Crimson Trace is going green. They’re expanding their line up, and the available colors.

BY Jacob Epstein Published: February 4, 2015 { 8 comments }If you have any interest in perfecting your IWI Tavor, you should check out Geissele’s new Tavor trigger. Does it get any better? For the rest of us, ALG has two new AK triggers. These clean up the biggest issue with the Kalashnikov. And they’re incredibly well priced.
Leupold’s New D-EVO Changes Everything–SHOT Show 2015
BY Jacob Epstein Published: February 4, 2015 { 9 comments }The Leupold D-EVO is harder to describe than it is to understand. It is an optic that allows you to see magnified targets. It also allows you to see targets at close range, unmagnified. At the same time. It is kind of like a badass bifocal, and it is going to change the way we think about optics.
Is That a GLOCK in Your Stock–SHOT Show 2015
BY Sam Trisler Published: January 26, 2015 { 46 comments }M.U.L.E. Tactical was at SHOT Show this year showing a very interesting AR stock. It is called the Adaptive Storage Stock. Simply put, it is a stock you can put a handgun in. You could put other things in there, too, but it wouldn’t be as much fun.
Range Estimation & Making the Long Shot – First Focal Plane Scopes
BY Paul Helinski Published: January 22, 2015 { 31 comments }Riflescopes have come a long way in the last ten years. It used to be that only elite hunters paid big money for high quality scopes, and those scopes mostly came from Germany. I don’t know if patents ran out on manufacturing methods, or manufacturing just got that much better overseas, but these days there are a lot of great scopes that are crystal clear even in low light conditions, and they don’t cost big money. You can still spend over $5,000 on a riflescope, but for $1,000 to $2,000 you can get what I’ve found to be as good a scope for a lot less (and sometimes even less than $1,000). This Burris XTR II 4x-20x is made in Malaysia, and I would put it against scopes many times its cost.
Recover that Beretta m9
BY Dave Higginbotham Published: January 15, 2015 { 6 comments }For me, a pistol without a rail is more or less a novelty. I shoot them at the range, but leave it at that. I won’t carry a full-size pistol if I can’t attach some implement of illumination to its frame. I’m not knocking range guns or older designs for their defects, but I carry guns I can use in low light situations. That’s where ReCover comes in.
New Ruger BX-Trigger For 10/22
BY Sam Trisler Published: January 6, 2015 { 20 comments }Fans of the venerable 10/22 typically have only one gripe with the gun: the trigger. Even so, the stock triggers on 10/22s are better than much of the competition. But Ruger now offers an improved trigger for the 10/22 and Charger. The BX-Trigger is a vast improvement over the stock Ruger triggers and is incredibly easy and quick to install.
