When I saw the Zero Tolerance 0460 at SHOT Show last year I knew I had to get my paws on it. It checked all the boxes. It was nothing like I currently owned. It was incredibly cool looking. Well built. And priced just right.

During the 2018 NRA Show in Dallas, Texas, Leupold announced six new models of their VX-Freedom line of scopes.  Here’s a quick rundown on why you should care:

With the right organizational system and the right bag, all of these fit and travel easily with room left over for a laptop, A/C adaptor, some papers and a book. Sure, it’s a lot of stuff, but that’s how I roll. With that, here are my top five important pieces of gear.

Krytos’ products allow shooters to either carry a noticeably lighter handgun or add accessories while maintaining a similar weight. A G17 with a red dot, threaded barrel, and titanium slide, for example, weighs about 2 ounces less than a factory G19.

The Laser Recoil Trainer replaces your handgun’s barrel and barrel spring, and uses compressed CO2 to rack the slide and mimic live rounds. The tip of the “barrel” features a built-in laser that lights up on each shot, so shooters can see where their round would have landed.

MGM is the largest portable target maker in the world for a reason: they pay attention to the little things and, as their company slogan says, “leave nothing to chance.”

Magpul has been reaching into every corner of the firearms industry, so the release of a bipod probably shouldn’t be that big of a surprise. What is a surprise, it looks like it might be pretty good for the price.

SIG has come out swinging in the hunting optics arena this year, with the introduction of the all-new BDX line. The Ballistic Data Exchange, or BDX, is a family of range finders and scopes that work together for fast and accurate shots. Once paired, the rangefinder beams data to the scope, showing a holdover dot for a fail-safe firing solution. The illuminated dot in the scope is bright and unmistakable, and also features SIG’s anti-cant illumination dots on the left and right edges of the scope.
