Springfield Armory is proud to announce the launch of the SA-16A2 5.56mm, inspired by the M16A2 rifle — one of the most capable and iconic firearms in history.

Maybe it’s the affordable ammo or the novelty of a .223 Rem caliber bolt action. I can’t quite say why, but when the CZ 600 Trail hit the market, I was entranced.

The SAR21 fires 5.56x45mm NATO from a closed bolt design and is charged with a non-reciprocating charging handle. Max firing rate ranges from 450-650 RPM while full-auto and semi-auto firing modes are selectable with the safety. Another bonus to the design is how it uses regular AR-style magazines that can be bought nearly anywhere.

While there are a lot of 5.56 AR rifles out there, Springfield Armory has done a good job of bringing a rifle to market that stands out. They have done this with their line of Saint Victor Rifles.

If you purchase firearms based solely on their ability to help you survive the zombie apocalypse, you might want to skip this one. But if you have a sense of humor, a love of weird firearms, and a healthy desire to Stick It to The Man, Franklin Armory’s new Reformation is exactly what you’ve been looking for.

The ASAP EML will load most 20, 30 and 40 round metal or plastic standard magazines. Some drum or snail type magazines may not work due to clearance issues in the magazine catch area.

So there we are. Your total urban defense ammo loadout by my calculation costs you just over $1,200 dollars. If you happen to have more on hand, awesome. But between now and when you need it, I strongly recommend you use some of that extra ammo to hone your skills.
