XD-E- Now Available In Men’s Sizes.
BY Clay Martin Updated: March 4, 2018So in a nutshell, all of the reasons to carry the XD-E I might not necessarily agree with. Some of them don’t apply to me specifically. But I can understand why they were done.
S&W New Editions to the M&P 2.0 Family — SHOT Show 2018
BY Clay Martin Updated: February 13, 2018Last year, the release of the M&P 2.0 family of pistols was one of the biggest stories fo the year. Unlike other companies, Smith and Wesson seemed to listen to every customer critique over the preceding 10 years and fixed every one of them in the 2.0. Not some, spaced over the next 3 generations. All of them. Right now. Ready go.
Springfield Armory XD-E in .45 ACP: The Dark Horse of the Springfield Family – SHOT Show 2018
BY Clay Martin Updated: February 12, 2018First up was the XD-E in 45 ACP. I have written a lot about the XD-E since it was first introduced in 9mm last year.
I affectionately call it the dark horse of the Springfield family because it is definitely not the first pistol that pops into mind when talking about S.A. For those that dig the XD-E, they’ll argue that it’s the best pistol in the lineup.
Ruger American Pistol: Compact & Ready for Carry — Full Review
BY Justin Opinion Updated: February 4, 2018Naming your latest handgun “The American Pistol” makes a pretty clear statement. Add to that the timing of the launch of this product line amidst the backdrop of a highly contentious Presidential campaign and a continuingly more divided American narrative, and it makes a loud and clear statement. Ruger is an American company that is dedicated to American values and to its American customers.
Wheelgun vs. Semiauto — Which is the Best for CCW
BY Aram Von Benedikt Updated: February 4, 2018I was a young cowboy with a fondness for horses, firearms, and pretty girls, in that order. One afore-mentioned pretty girl awaited my arrival across a high mountain pass that guards my Rocky Mountain home, but as my diesel pickup growled its way upward toward the pass I knew I was going to be early for our date. So I geared down and pulled off the highway into a small patch of ponderosa timber. The motor grumbled to a halt and I lifted my most recent crush off the truck seat, it’s long frame svelte and gleaming in the late afternoon light. The action was as smooth as whipped cream sweetened with maple sugar, and I forgot all about my upcoming date. Carrying the curvaceous form a little way from the truck I swung it to eye level and squeezed. A distant twig disappeared with a thunderous crack, and smoke rose in slow spirals from the six-inch barrel of my vintage Colt Python. I was in love.

Cartridge Showdown: 9mm Versus .45 ACP
BY Aram Von Benedikt Updated: January 28, 2018“Trying to stop a bad-guy with a nine mm is like trying to stop a charging buffalo with a twenty-two. Might as well use a fly-swatter”.
Such statements were common when I was a kid, and at the time there was some truth to them. Many experienced shooters, veterans, and L.E. officers still preferred the hard-hitting .45 ACP, (Automatic Colt Pistol) to the 9mm with its smaller, lighter and more streamlined projectile.
