The RFID lock on this shelf is hidden in the tape case. The other lock option is the magnetic posts that are at the corners.
New for 2016 they have introduced RFID locking technology as an upgraded option to all of their locking concealment covers, shelves, and furniture.
The RFID option is set to be offered on all locking models of the Tactical Walls line up. The lock will play a sci-fi themed unlocking sound sequence as the enclosure opens. The lock will also feature an alarm that will trigger if the device is tampered with or left open for an extended amount of time. It is powered by a 123A battery that will last 30,000 life cycles and is easily replaced from the inside of the enclosure.
The lock is actuated by an RFID card that can be used as a stand alone key. It can also be placed in your wallet or inside of any other non metallic object. The options are pretty much endless. Tim from Tactical Walls used an old cassette case as their key for the floor model.
The price of this upgrade is not exactly inexpensive, but then again when it comes to securing your firearms nothing ever is. The option is set to retail for $200 and will be available on all locking production models starting at the end of February.[one_half]

Very nice! everyone should have at least something like this if not this.
If we already have a shelf, can we purchase the upgrade to replace the magenetic locks on ours with the new ones? They still cost $200? Man that’s almost as much as I paid for the shelf 🙂
These would be a piece of cake to DIY with some pretty basic shop ability.
The finish on your products gives them up for what they really are. A furniture like finish would create more interest on my part .
