Overview
The problem with most gun safes and storage units is that they scream to the world, “Hey, I have firearms on the inside.” That’s not exactly the ideal message to be sending.
Tactical Walls solves this problem by creating furniture and other household items that allow you to hide your firearms in plain sight while also giving you immediate access to them.
AT SHOT, I was stopped by one of the sales reps for Tactical Walls who gave me a very brief demo of one of their new products: the Concealment Night Table. Basically, it’s an inconspicuous looking nightstand that, in lieu of a traditional drawer, has a compartment for your firearm that is RFID operated.
You walk up to the night table, swipe your card and voila! there is your sidearm with a few extra mags and maybe even a flashlight or a knife, depending on how you configure the customizable foam pad.

Impression
I really like the idea. I do have some questions about how secure the compartment is when it’s locked, e.g. could a small child rip it open? Could a grown man rip it open? How secure is the firearm?
But overall, I was impressed. It seems solidly constructed. And with five finishes to choose from, black, clear coat, cherry, early American, dutch walnut, one should be able to find one to match their living room or bedroom furniture.
Price and Availability
The price is $495. Since it’s a newer product, delivery will take 2-4 weeks. And it is made here in America.

It’s midnight, you hear your back door being kicked, then you remember you left your keycard in your wallet downstairs. I love technology, but deploy it with care, as your life depends on it.
I would like this so much more if it was a little faster deployment or is it adjustable?
Me buying this has less to do with not wanting to keep a pistol on my night stand, and more to do with wanting to look like I’m James Bond. I like it when functionality and ‘Man Brain’ come together to form a good excuse. The question is, will they make a key table I can put by my door, that’s long enough for an AR?
