Super model in hot water over comments on gun control

in Authors, S.H. Blannelberry

Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Chrissy Teigen is in hot water following comments she made on Twitter with respect to the active shooting in Ottawa, Canada, on Wednesday.

Teigen twitted, “[A]ctive shooting in Canada, or as we call it in america, wednesday,” she wrote on Twitter.

“That’s not a joke. It is a fact,” she added.

Tegien was attempting to criticize gun laws here in the U.S., but many of her followers slammed her for her insensitivity in the wake of a tragedy that left one Canadian soldier dead.

Teigen did not back down in the face of the heat, doubling down on her position.

“I’m not apologizing. If you take it wrong, that is your fault.”

Miss Teigen, thats “America” or “Merica.” Never america.

It is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

  • GringoRingo January 5, 2015, 8:56 am

I am really tired of all the folks from different places, seemingly telling us how bad it is over here. Why are they here, better yet, why don’t they get back to where they belong !

  • EricX January 5, 2015, 12:53 am

Because we all know how supermodels are respected for their brains and insight on issues. Pffffffttttt!!!

  • Christopher January 4, 2015, 8:36 pm

The entire thing was a HOAX anyway.

  • Mike B January 4, 2015, 7:54 pm

Wonder how much personal security she has. Want to bet they all carry?

  • jedagi January 4, 2015, 5:00 pm

I personally dont give a rats rump what some souped up split tail has to tweet. Why do so many of us americans get so caught up in what celebrities have to say. The people we need to follow are each other. We are the people that have the common sense. The people that make up this country. The people that work for a living. The friends i follow on facebook, google+ & youtube are people like me. If we are going to follow/support a celebrity, lets make sure it’s someone like minded.

    • Mike January 5, 2015, 6:19 pm

Sad that your entire msg was spot-on, but you ruined it with “split tail”. Bummer. Way to feed the stereotype….

RC Paulsen summed it up best.

  • RC Paulsen January 4, 2015, 3:37 pm

    1. The shooter was in possession of a firearm in a place where guns are so restricted that even the MILITARY GUARD he shot was unarmed. Gun control DOES NOT keep guns out of the hands of bad guys.
    2. The UNARMED guard at the entrance of the Parliament building attempted to wrestle the gun away from the shooter, but was shot in the foot and unable to continue the fight.
    3. An armed RCMP security force then pursued the shooting inside the building, and ordered him to drop his gun and surrender.
    4. Kevin Vickers, the Seargent-at-Arms of the House of Commons, and a former RCMP officer and administrator, recovered his 9mm handgun from a lockbox in his office and pursued the shooter.
    5. The RCMP security force, unable to stop the shooter, alerted Vickers of the shooter’s location.
    6. Vickers, a good guy with a gun, stopped the bad guy with a gun.

In Chrissy Teigen’s perfect world, the shooter would have continued his rampage unabated. In fairness, it should be noted that the people, like Ms.Teigen, who would leave all of us as sitting ducks in the criminals’ arcade, are not generally bad people – just ignorant of the facts. Their true culpability lies in deliberately choosing to REMAIN uninformed.

Never heard of her and why is what she “tweeted” all that important. She’s just another liberal pseudo celebrity esposing typical liberal views. Why these people get any kind of notice for their opinions on anything is beyond me.

  • Dr. Earl January 4, 2015, 2:36 pm

Well make fun of our gun laws but tell me, how did those Canadian laws work out for ya in this case ?

  • Marc Cunningham January 4, 2015, 1:42 pm

Well she is right if you can’t take what she says it is your problem.

  • JjDoodah January 4, 2015, 1:20 pm

How about we leave her in “Safe” Canada…..pull her work & travel visa…..evidently her brain isn’t what gets her the modeling gigs….

  • Fox January 4, 2015, 11:13 am

Hey, I think Chrissy is right on the money. I think what this is here is the standard BS of Fox News. I mean,,,,,isn’t this typical of Fox to do anything to keep the far right stirred up. I mean just look at Fox’s history, they slant everything to rial the far right. I understand why also. If you produce as much “yellow journalism” as they do, you definitely need something to keep you on the air. Sick ’em Chrissy and Fox News this is your standard Wednesday performance.

    • Bob Matheson January 5, 2015, 3:04 pm

Don’t know what “rial” is supposed to spell….Apparently you & this dumb broad use the same “pea brain”. I should say have the same pea brain, since obviously neither of you are using a brain! If you choose to suck down the propaganda proffered by the Left Wing media, have at it! Remember, “Tis better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt”!

      • John Smith July 30, 2016, 1:10 pm

        Bob,
I agree with your remarks, but I would like to make a small correction to your quote.I believe the saying is:
“Tis better to be silent and thought a fool, than to open ones’ mouth and remove all doubt”.But you are on the money!

    • Bob Matheson January 5, 2015, 3:08 pm

Hey Fox! I think you’re a moron & part of the problem!

  • lardog January 4, 2015, 10:29 am

Yes, it is sad but again a non citizen is projecting her socialist views in what she wants for the US. Like many models and actors God gave them beauty but not necessarily brains. Being a informed person you can really make a difference. First know who are the anti gun agenda people in the news and DO NOT support their movies, products they endorse and tell others not to do the same. Do not spend your money watching or supporting products from these blowhards. Liam Neeson is just one of the very large group that are anti 2nd amendment or anti gun who has made millions using guns in movies but stanchly supports the notion that the general public has NO rights to own them. Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jim Carey, the list is endless. On the other end of the spectrum is Brad Pitt his wife Angelina Jolene , Clint Eastwood, Bruce Willis and a very few others who have all spoken out against the anti gun crowd, for the second amendment and get the cold shoulder from Hollywierd or the socialist agenda driven media. Support the actors that support or share your same views. The same goes with not supporting stores such as Starbucks, Target and Panera bread Costco, Tyson chicken. Spend you dollars with Sam’s Club, Wal Mart etc. who share you same political views. The internet is a wonderful tool and you can really make a difference by support companies that share you view.

Why is it there’s no calling attention of guns in the hands of the 36 arrested at the Ferguson protests for having guns? Did the murderer who shot 2 of NYPD’s finest have his gun legally or no? Why does the Mayor of NYC, the prez, and Holder have security details who carry guns? Does gun confiscation mean all guns? If not, who gets to decide? Until they figure it out, I’ll go w/the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution for all the citizens of these United States of America!

  • OldArmy January 4, 2015, 8:12 am

Search for “chrissy teigen brand endorsements” to learn what brands to boycott.

  • Jim Jadwin January 4, 2015, 7:58 am

Just another bleeding heart lib-tard whose lack of intellect and ego is only exceeded by her twitter followers. She should comment on things that test the far reaches of her IQ like the latest episode of “keeping up with the Kardashians” Perhaps one of her fans will buy her a tractor for her birthday, so she can “pull her head out”.

  • Paul T. January 4, 2015, 3:37 am

    A model tweeted something stupid?

  • King Ghidora November 5, 2014, 11:31 pm

What is it that makes people think that getting your face published on a magazine cover means that you suddenly have an informed opinion?

  • BHP Fan November 1, 2014, 10:20 am

Had never even heard of this broad before this article.

That right there tells me how important she is (not at all).

  • gym October 31, 2014, 12:02 am

Another stupid celebrity that thinks they actually know something about guns and gun control. First read the United States Constitution and see why our fathers and forefathers and sons died to uphold out core values, before sticking your big freaking foot in your mouth you dumb overpaid moron.

    • Jim Jadwin January 4, 2015, 8:02 am

Perhaps when her career tanks (soon I hope) she will have plenty of time to ponder statements or actions have consequences.

  • Dan Forbey October 27, 2014, 8:02 pm

It’s kind of a shame. I would almost guarantee this girl has a myopic little circle of modeling friends who share her worldview, and she’s probably never been exposed to a lot of common-sense people. Anyway, Recoil Magazine has hotter hotties any day of the week.

Typical response from a sports illustrated model; someone should tell her as long as she represent a particular venue, her mouth should be closed, or they may lose precious sponsors, like the general public for instance, remember close your pie hole…

  • BRASS October 27, 2014, 11:16 am

No one cares what this woman has to say.

    • Russ October 28, 2014, 3:15 pm

      Here here

  • Lee Blackman October 27, 2014, 11:06 am

Never heard of her, yea she’s hot, ok there are lots of hot chicks even hotter. Already forgot what her name was… Filed into the “Another ding dong celebrity making stupid comments for attention” category, and forgotten. Hey did you know Brad Pitt is pro gun? That surprises me, a celebrity who isn’t carrying the popular agenda, but actually has their own thought? I figured they all used the same single brain, but apparently Brad Pitt has his own. That just amazes me…

    • Mikelasnicov October 29, 2014, 1:12 pm

I heard Brad Pitt built a 400 K shooting range for his wife, apparently she is also pro gun.

  • D Hicks October 27, 2014, 10:18 am

    She’s not that good looking.

  • TGCSC2 October 27, 2014, 8:54 am

America with a capital letter. Give America the respect we deserve. She spelled Canada correct.

    • Abnormal January 4, 2015, 12:35 pm

America – We are Canada’s Military Forces for Protection

  • PudbertSavannahGA October 27, 2014, 7:14 am

    What a typical ign0rantBIACH…
    Maybe she can explain this:

    A real LibT ard conundrum:

“Gun control defined: The theory that Criminals who are willing to ignore laws against rape, torture, kidnapping, theft, and murder will obey a law which prohibits them from owning a firearm.”

A conundrum….that which does not compute?

    • bob January 4, 2015, 6:56 am

I think you need to define conundrum to her first, its a three syllable word after all.

      • Norm January 4, 2015, 11:14 am

        Right on!

  • Early October 27, 2014, 5:51 am

I will pass on Sports Illustrated until they purge this anti gun dem-com from their roster.

  • Early October 27, 2014, 5:48 am

This is not even a gun issue primarily but a stupid celebrity issue. When will they get it? For one moment of anti-gun masturbation they draw controversy to a hard earned brand and draw the ire of their respective sponsors and strategic alliances who will suffer. I am sure they pay you good money for your T&A and not the empty space between your ears. Congratulations Teigen! You have traded one brief moment of liberal rant for a good chunk of celebrity capital. Your sponsors should begin feeling the blow back soon. And soon you will be contemplating your liberal spew and its worth.
