While Cobalt Kinetics may be a relatively new player in the AR market, it has been making quite the splash with its innovative and beautiful guns. New from the company is the Evolve, an eye-catching silver carbine in 5.56mm with some really innovative features.

The Evolve features one of Cobalt’s newest innovations, the Cobalt Advantage Reload System (C.A.R.S.). This system speeds operation of the rifle by eliminating two traditionally manual tasks. The C.A.R.S causes the rifle to automatically drop an empty magazine as the last remaining round from it is chambered. Once that round is fired, the bolt locks back. When a freshly loaded magazine is inserted, the C.A.R.S. system automatically sends the bolt home to chamber a round.

The Evolve has many additional innovative features, including its proprietary muzzle brake that was developed in tandem with the rifle. The butterfly cut brake tops off the muzzle of the sub-moa-guaranteed rifle and diverts gasses to help tame muzzle rise and the gun is fired. Another unique feature is its Advantage Buffer System that allows users to tune the rifle to a specific load. It comes standard with three adjustable weight inserts as well as three springs for the ultimate in customizable tuning.

To ensure users wring out the best possible performance from the Evolve, Cobalt Kinetics equips the rifle with an American Trigger Corporation AR Gold Trigger. The trigger’s engagement is set internally, so variations in receiver hole location and size have no effect on trigger pull or reliability. Also, the trigger includes exit paths for blown primers. The trigger’s engagement surfaces are cut using Wire EDM.

Well it is interesting looking. I agree it would suit a storm trooper, lol. I guess I like more of a classic look. Are these sold by many?

The ar15 market has become so saturated companies are trying to find new fangled ideas, guess this it it. No thanks. I’ll stick to my basic a1 without all the extra crap, shoots just fine and looks like an ar, not a spaceship.

Great magazine/bolt functions, add a piston gas system and I would be interested. Pretty only gets you so far, but it is that.
