Springfield Armory has introduced California-compliant versions of its Hellcat, Hellcat Pro, and XD-M Elite 9mm pistols, expanding its offerings to the Golden State’s gun enthusiasts.
The Hellcat, a favorite among everyday carry (EDC) pistols, packs a punch with its 3″ barrel and OSP slide, ready for an optic. It’s also equipped with U-Dot tritium sights and Adaptive Grip Texture, making it a solid choice for concealed carry.
The Hellcat Pro steps it up, keeping the compact design but extending the barrel to 3.7″ and the frame for a better grip, resulting in improved control. With OSP and U-Dot sights included, it’s another robust EDC option.
As for the XD-M Elite 4.5” 9mm, it’s the pinnacle of its class. It features the Match Enhanced Trigger Assembly (META), ambidextrous controls, and improved slide serrations for a superior shooting experience.

All three models are equipped with two 10-round magazines and built to meet California’s stringent “safety” standards, including magazine disconnect safeties and special loaded chamber indicators. While the XD-M Elite 4.5” omits the extended magwell found on other Elite models, it doesn’t compromise on performance or durability.
Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing at Springfield Armory, says, “These new California-compliant pistols give residents of the state of California an opportunity to own their own versions of some truly innovative and exceptional handguns,”
“From two of the most popular EDC-ready pistols on the market — the Hellcat and Hellcat Pro — to the highly refined and advanced XD-M Elite 9mm, California residents now have a host of impressive options for their collections,” he added.
The California-compliant Hellcat is priced at $633, the Hellcat Pro at $649, and the XD-M Elite 4.5” 9mm at $609. For more details on these models, Springfield Armory encourages you to visit their respective product pages.
