Competitors can expect target sizes of 1-2 MOA at distances from 200 to 1,100 yards. Paul Smith, the owner of Frontline Defense, will serve as match director. This marks the frist time the NRL has taken the party East of the Mississippi.
“The NRL is proud to have Army veteran Paul Smith of Frontline Defense representing us on the East Coast. Bold and decisive are qualities that describe Paul, and exactly what it takes to introduce the NRL to the East Coast,” says Tyler Frehner, Director of Match Operations, National Rifle League, in a press release.
“I like to think of matches as training. Not many folks get to shoot outside of matches due to where they live. My goal is to challenge shooters at any skill level,” said Paul on why he decided to become a match director and contribute as a board of director on the NRL.
“Getting involved at the ground level of a growing industry is what I like to be involved in,” he added. “I liked what the mindset of the NRL was all about.”
Our resident long range expert Thomas Gomez competited in an NRL match last year and had nothing but positive things to say about his experience. As he wrote, “I got to meet some fantastic people and walked away from the event a better marksman.” What more can you ask for?
