SIG announced this week that the highly anticipated P365 XL is shipping to dealers around the country!
The follow-up to the hugely popular P365, the XL is — as one might expect — a bigger pistol with a larger standard capacity (12+1 rounds with a flush-fitting mag in the XL vs. 10+1 in the original P365).
The difference in dimension is as follows:
From the sounds of it, SIG believes they have another hit on their hands.
“When the P365 was introduced it hit the market by storm, and was a game-changer when it comes to Everyday Carry, by delivering unprecedented capacity in a micro-compact size. The P365 instantaneously became the top-selling pistol, and one of the most award-winning pistols in history,” said Tom Taylor, Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, Commercial Sales, SIG SAUER, Inc. in a press release obtained by GunsAmerica.
“With the P365 XL we have once again redefined Everyday Carry by delivering 12+1 capacity, or 15+1 capacity, in a highly concealable, compact profile while bringing many of the XSERIES features to the P365 that are extremely popular and sought after by consumers.”
Those XSERIES features include a P365 grip module with an integrated carry magwell and extended beavertail, a flat trigger with a 90-degree break, and a 3.7-inch barrel for increased accuracy, says SIG.
Additionally, the P365 XL is optics-ready and compatible with SIG’s Electro-Optics ROMEOZero and RMSc Optics. If red dots aren’t your thing, the pistol comes standard with X-RAY3 Day/Night sights.
Pricing for the XL is around $600 MSRP. Purchasers will receive two 12-round mags, though 15-round mags are also available at the SIG Store. We plan to publish a full review of the XL in the very near future. Stay tuned.
The media hysteria over the 365 is one of the biggest PR scams that I can remember, micro high capacity 9mm have been produced for years by Keltec, SCCY, Grendal to name a few. I like SIG but I still find it hard to believe that the press releases for the 365 where not paid for, every gun mag had it on its cover for months. Every article proclaiming it the greatest 9mm of all time as if SIG invented the idea of a small 9mm. It may be a great gun, but what is the point of a Large 365? Will it now become the greatest service gun size gun ever?
Seems like the specs for a P320 subcompact. Just sayin…
CT HAS 10 ROUND MAX CAPACITY LAW IN EFFECT. IHAV A 365 and WANT TO TRY THE NEW 365 XL. ANY MAGAZINES AVAILABLE? LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR REPLY.
