America’s Most Popular Handgun” — that is how SIG Sauer describes its P365, the paradigm-shifting micro-compact pistol chambered in 9mm Luger. The P365’s high capacity and high concealability give you a practical and capable handgun you can carry every day of the year.

The P365 is offered as a complete system from SIG. This system not only includes holsters, magazines up to 15 rounds in capacity and special ammunition, now there is a SIG AIR P365 trainer that fires BBs.

One of the biggest challenges with concealed carry is training. Many ranges will not allow you to draw from the holster and many shooters have limited range availability. With the BB trainer, you can make any garage or basement an indoor range and practice 24/7 with your AIR P365.

This trainer is no toy. It is a realistic replica matching the size and weight of the pistol. The functioning drop-free magazine houses a 12-gram CO2 cartridge and 12 BBs. It mimics the P365’s trigger and controls and the blowback-action slide locks open after the last BB is fired.

The SIG AIR P365 BB Pistol is cheap to shoot and easy to use.

The 3-dot sights have a green, high-visibility dot on the front sight post. This provides a nice sight picture. The trigger is light and crisp. You can get twelve hits at velocities up to 295 Feet Per Second as fast as you can pull the trigger.

Many BB systems lack the accuracy for practical training, not the case with the AIR P365. The picture below is a 12-round group fired from the fourth full magazine using the same CO2 cartridge at 7 yards. This is more than adequate for self-defense training with realistic targets at practical distances.

The SIG AIR P365 will hold a practical group during rapid-fire at 7 yards. This target shows a 12-round group fired from a full magazine.

I was impressed with the simplicity. Just load 12 BBs in the magazine’s slot and seat a 12-gram CO2 cartridge in the magazine. I was able to fire six 12-round magazines from the same CO2 cartridge before velocity started to fall off. There were no issues with reliability, even with the cheapest Walmart CO2 cartridges.

The trainer comes with 300 BBs. SIG recommends that you use premium BBs for best results. High-quality CO2 cartridges will provide better velocity and more shots. You get what you pay for.

I really like these targets from concealedcarry.com. They make your hits easy to see and they have stickers to cover your hits for repeated use. Even after 12 hits, I can patch the holes up and see my hits with the next magazine.

SIG Air P365 BB Pistol Features

  • Full blowback metal slide
  • 12 round magazine
  • CO2 powered
  • Velocities up to 295 Feet Per Second
  • Last round slide lock
  • Green high visibility 3-dot fixed sights
  • Functional manual safety
  • Same weight and feel as the P365 9mm handgun

If you have a pellet trap, beware. BBs don’t react like pellets, they bounce back. I have gotten great results with cardboard boxes, reinforced with extra cardboard and stuffed with newspaper. If you build these, make sure you check it every 50 rounds or so to make sure you aren’t shooting through it. Have a good backstop and please wear safety glasses, BBs at 295 fps are no joke.

If you are carrying a gun, you have an obligation to yourself, your family and your community to be swift and accurate. This means that you have to train. The AIR P365 is simple, reliable, accurate and most important, affordable. The P365 and AIR P365 are exactly what you need to get started with concealed carry.

Is this manufactured by Sig or by another company for Sig. Big difference between manufactured and “Branded” or under license.
    Thanks
