If curious to know what kind of people you’ll find at the Shooting Hunting Outdoor Trade Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, the video above will give you an idea.
To recap, Century Arms was giving away an American-made AK-47. When company spokesman Jacob Herman announced the winner of the rifle, “Norm Knight,” the man immediately said, “I want him to have it.”
Norm was referring to Rick Cicero, a combat veteran who lost an arm and a leg during his last tour in Afghanistan.
“You’re the reason I’m here,” Knight said to Cicero.
Inspired by his act of kindness, Herman gave an AK-47 to Mr. Knight.
If you ask me, that was pretty awesome gesture by everyone involved. Some really great people at SHOT Show.

My next weapon will be a Century Arms weapon. Thanks for the coverage. God Bless America!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!
And thats exactly what it means to be American and what we do!
nice move guys!
I visited last year’s SHOT show in Las Vegas. I am a Vietnam veteran and “just for the hell of it”, took and used an old Vietnam-veteran cap for the event. I was given a heartfelt salute and a “thank you for your service” message – TWICE! It was the first (and only) time that has happened to me since I left the Army in 1969. I am glad and proud that my brothers, serving or who served in the middle-east, are not forgotten as we were. Hoohah!
Great stuff……..we must take care of our veterans because, as Norm stated, they are the reason we are here.
God bless Rick, Norm and all the great Americans at Century that made this awesome act possible…….
I am so proud of this gesture, and I’m proud to call Jacob a friend. This is three very good men, and we should all be proud.
Acts of kindness like this are life changing. I’m 100% disabled from the Army and have tried to “pay it forward” every chance I get just because I live in the greatest country in the world. There truly are “angels” walking among us. Thank you guys and Century Arms!
Suddenly I feel the need to buy a Century Arms gun.
ME TOO!
There are still a lot of great people in this country. I am a 100% disabled veteran and about 6 months ago I was eating lunch with my family at a local restaurant. I was wearing a US Army veteran hat and when it came time to pay for my meal the waitress said not to worry about it that a man who had been sitting near us had already paid our bill. He had done it without telling us and had already left so I could not thank him personally but I told the waitress if she saw him again to tell him how much I appreciated his kindness. It was very emotional for me to see such a completely selfless act of kindness and it really made me feel special instead of looked at as handicapped. It came at a time when I was feeling sorry for myself and reminded me why I did what I did for my country. Some may say it was a small gesture but it had a huge effect on me and it helped me to accept my life and embrace all the great things I have living in the USA. You never know how a simple thing like telling a vet thanks for your service can make somebodies day or week. This guy was truly a patriot and I sure he made a wounded vet feel grateful for what he sacrificed. The motto Freedom is not Free can be seen at our Veteran’s hospitals and to see someone make this selfless gesture shows that a lot of people still understand and care about the sacrifices vets make for their country. Kudos to Century Arms for rewarding him with a rifle for him too.
That was the most selfless act I have seen in a long time. Best wishes to all and thank you to Century Arms.
That is the kind of thing I would like to think I would do. Its an awesome selfless act and Im sure he will be just as happy as the vet he gave it to!
Notice Century Arms also gave another one to the guy who gave his away. What a great demonstration of kindness on both the man who donated his to the vet, and Century Arms for honoring his gesture! Two thumbs up!
Am I the only one that shed a tear watching this? These 3 men demonstrate the brotherhood we should all have as shooters.
This is one of the best things I have seen in quit some time!
Gives true meaning to paying it forward !!
That was so cool! God Bless our warriors and they’re families for the sacrifices they have made.
That’s what being “American” is all about! That’s what makes me proud to be a Veteran.
That was awsome!! Now that is what America is all about..
What a heck of a man both all three of them are.
This kindness from that man giving that veteran the gun ,because of his service to his country, brought a tears to my eyes.
The AK rep gave away the second gun to the winner of the Ak because of the kindness he showed to the vet was awesome !
Century Arms Has a new customer ,Me ..
That was a very good thing that happen to both man. I will be looking at the new home made AK for my nex gun!!
