Lithgow Arms LA105 Woomera in 6.5 Creedmoor & .308 – SHOT 2018

Lithgow LA105 Woomera. During the SHOT 2018 Range Day, I stacked three rounds on top of each other at 100 yards using Hornady 6.5 Creedmoor ammunition.

Building on the success of the Lithgow LA101 and LA102 rifles, Legacy Sports International is now offering the Lithgow LA105 Woomera rifle. The Lithgow LA105 mates a match grade barreled upper receiver from Lithgow Arms of Australia to a Kinetic Research Group chassis. The Lithgow LA105 features a 20 MOA Picatinny rail and muzzle brake. The rifle has a 24-inch heavy profile barrel and is offered in .308 Winchester and 6.5 Creedmoor.

The Lithgow LA105 Woomera features a 20 MOA Picatinny rail. The action was butter smooth, and the bolt was easily manipulated.

I have a lot of experience with the Lithgow LA102 which debuted at the 2017 SHOT Show. I tested an early version at my ranch in Central New Mexico. The rifle was chambered in .308 Winchester, and I found the rifle to be well made and very accurate. I had no problems shooting Hornady 178-grain ELD-X bullets out to 1,400 yards.

The Lithgow LA105 produced sub-moa groups with 140-grain Hornady American Gunner ammunition.

The propriety muzzle brake was very effective at mitigating recoil. The brake can easily come off if an end user wants to add a suppressor.

The Kinetic Research Group stock is fantastic.

The Lithgow LA105 that Legacy Sports International had at SHOT 2018 Range Day was chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. Loading up a magazine with Hornady 140-grain American Gunner, I stacked three rounds on top of each other at 100 yards. The trigger was wide, crisp and broke with little effort. The muzzle brake did a fantastic job mitigating recoil, and the Kinetic Research Group stock was ergonomic and very comfortable.

Lasting Impressions

If you are in the market for a precision rifle, I would take a very long look at the Lithgow LA105. These rifles are going to retail somewhere around $2,000. The LA105 would be perfect for Law Enforcement, Precision Rifle Series style competitions, varmint control, long range hunting or simply shooting 6.5 Creedmoor rounds out to a mile.

Like distance shooting with less recoil muzzle break guns like your 6.5 creedmoor and 308 I shot 300wsm with muzzle break absolutely love it, 110gr to 220gr they all shoot well.
Like to see more 6.5×55 sweed products though as this is amazing flat shooting round
