Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is confident that in the long run gun-control advocates will be victorious in their efforts to place restrictions on the Second Amendment.
In an interview with VICE, Schumer said that “We’ll win sooner or later, we just have to keep at it” (conversation on guns starts around the 10:00 min mark in the video above).
Schumer was also asked what would happen if gun control was put to a vote in America.
Rather emphatically, Schumer said that Americans would vote for tougher gun laws by a 2-1 margin — even in states that are traditionally known for embracing and protecting one’s right to keep and bear arms.
However, one can argue that Schumer is just talking out of this butt because recent public polling suggests that, increasingly, American believe guns can be used to prevent crimes and believe that the Second Amendment should be safeguarded as opposed to being gutted.

So, yeah, that 2-1 vote in favor of gun control that Schumer hypothesized is more than a bit of wishful thinking. There’s no way the public would approve tougher gun laws by a 2-1 margin.
Regardless of the hypothetical outcome, fundamental rights should never be subject to a vote. Period.
Seems strange that the very folks wanting to take our rights away are required by law and the Constitution to take this oath of office ?
Also is seems that only the people he / she represents can gauge if the duties of office have been well and faithfully executed ?
Yet, they scream Not my President, no guns, no rights and God does not exist.
The Communist have taken over the government.

I thought she was leaving the country ? Was the article published before her gun grabbing candidate was soundly thrashed in the Nov. 8th election ? ….. LOL…
Schumer is such a hypocrite. He likely is guarded by men who have access to fully automatic submachine guns. He can get any gun he wants because the laws to not apply to him. All the guns and guards for me. But the common citizen, nothing for you.
Gun control is taking away the common civilian firearms. Those who are the extremely rich, or in a government leadership position will always have access to guns and guards. The Founders of this Nation never wanted it to be this way. The common citizen was to be armed.
Throughout history back even to the days of the ancient Greece this rule applied: the citizen owned arms, those who were subjects were disarmed.
You’ll win what Shumer ? More gun control ? Gun control just doesn’t work !
How about a little “Border Control” ? Try keeping the flood of illegal aliens that cross our borders without lawful due process from murdering our citizens one after the other !
Typical liberal stance , “The poor aliens just want a better life ” ! So they take ours !

When will this guy just go away and leave the rest of in the good old US of A alone? I’m sick of these know it all northeastern politicians from large urban areas thinking that the rest of must adhere to their ‘I know what’s best for you’ attitude… Well, Mr. Schuma, we don’t want you, we don’t think like you, and we sure as hell don’t think you speak for a bunch of us in Texas! How does one loudmouth from NY get to push his views on us? I’m still clinging to my Bible and guns!
