When I think of Savage rifles I think great accuracy at a great price point. In fact, in terms of value per dollar, it’s hard to beat Savage. This makes them a great option for new shooters and the many millions of us who don’t have $1,000 or more to spend on a new rifle.
With that in mind, Savage released a cool teaser video last week that gave us just a little insight into its new MSR — Modern Sporting Rifle. That’s correct, in the not too distant future Savage is going to debut its AR-15 in its full and untrammeled glory!
What can we expect? Based on the video it’ll have an M-Lok free-float handguard and a side charging handle.
Additionally, since Blackhawk! is owned by the same parent company as Savage, ATK Sporting, we can expect their MSR to be tricked out with — or at the very least, compatible with — BLACKHAWK! furniture. Though, it’s probably best not to speculate too much here.
As far as the MSRP is concerned, we don’t have any info on that just yet. However, with SHOT Show around the corner, we should have all the deets shortly.
Stay tuned.
If it is a semi-auto, there is no chance that as a Connecticut resident I will be owning one anytime soon. Next chance of that even happening is the next statewide election in 2 years.
There will be an MSR 15 and an MSR 10, if initial reports are reliable. The MSR 10 in .308 was posted on Grab-A-Gun with a price of $1922.22. I seem to recall that Armalites are hundreds less than that.
