Vent rib provides a great sight plane to the target.

Savage Arms has tweaked their popular Renegauge shotgun to allow it to go into the head-to-head 3-Gun competition world. In a sport that is timed down to the 1/100th of a second, reliability and speed are critical!

The Renegauge’s D.R.I.V. gas system allows it to shoot a wide variety of shells and vent off excess pressure to reduce recoil on the shooter allowing for greater control and speed. While shooting the Renegauge Competition at 2022 SHOT Show, it ran flawlessly and was easy to shoot and control.

Matched lines of the 24-inch barrel and 9-round magazine tube.

The Competition model is fitted with a 24-inch barrel and an extended magazine tube to allow for a 9 + 1 capacity and a sturdy clamp to support the magazine tube. The barrel has a Hi-Viz front sight atop the ventilated rib. The receiver is also drilled and tapped to allow for optics during Open class shooting.

The extended lifter makes for smoother loads into the magazine tube.

The loading port has been generously opened up to allow faster loading. An important part of a winning 3-Gun is keeping the hungry shotgun fed! They are far faster to shoot than to load so this modification really helps. Not a bad idea for high-volume hunting either.
