Sturm, Ruger & Company is celebrating prolific gunwriter Jeff Quinn with their very limited-edition Jeff Quinn Memorial GP100 revolver. Dedicated to Quinn, the founder of Gunblast.com who passed last year, only 500 pieces will be made.
The Jeff Quinn Memorial GP100 is a full-size 5-shot GP100 chambered for .44 Special. It has a 4.2-inch barrel, full-length ejector rod and half underlug. For every memorial revolver sold, Ruger and Lipsey’s will donate a portion of the proceeds, over $20,000, to Quinn’s charity of choice, Bikers Who Care.
Bikers Who Care is an organization dedicated to supporting the Dream Factory and Camp Rainbow, out of Clarksville, Tenn., which supports local children’s charities and charities for seriously ill kids. “Jeff was a long-time member of BWC and supported their mission with all his heart,” said Ruger.
“Jeff was a pioneer with his Gunblast.com website, the first of its kind to offer online reviews of firearms. While his persona — epic, dual-braid beard included — was down to earth, his writing was crisp and intelligently presented, offering reliable information that any firearms enthusiast would enjoy,” they said in the announcement. “A good friend of everyone at Ruger and Lipsey’s, Jeff will be greatly missed.”
The serial number range for the revolvers will start at JQ-000 and number up to 500 total. All have the same two-tone look with a matte-blued finish on the cylinder and frame with high-polished stainless hammers and triggers.
The Hogue walnut grips feature Quinn’s likeness and signature engraved on the right side for display. Other touches include an adjustable rear sight, brass bead front sight and straight, unfluted cylinder profile.

While this revolver is fine for display there’s no doubt that it’s also a shooter. The GP100 is a practical double-action design meant to be used, and even though it’s a .44 Special, with its straight cylinder, beefy frame, and triple lock-up, it’s going to be good to go with “Ruger-only” loads that can push the cartridge to its maximum.
Whether or not the dear fans of Jeff Quinn are looking for a nice memento or a revolver they can take to the range every time they head out, this GP100 will do. Each revolver will ship with a signed certificate of authenticity by Boge Quinn.

A Fine Revolver to commemorate a Fine Gentleman. To paraphrase Mr. Quinn, “That Revolver is a Dandy”.
A very nice way to honor a man who did much better the way information is presented. I think we all learned a thing or two from him. R.I.P. Mr. Quinn – and congrats to the 500 folks who buy the guns.
