Ride-Sharing Company Lyft Offering Free Transpo to Anti-Gun Rallies

Lyft is anti-gun. Time to delete my account.

Lyft said last week that it will offer free rides to students heading to the anti-gun rallies scheduled later this Month. On Twitter, the execs for the ride-sharing app made the announcement.

“We believe there is something seriously wrong when the threat of gun violence is so frequent and real throughout our country. And like many, we are inspired by your leadership,” wrote co-founders John Zimmer and Logan Green.

“We’d be honored to support your work with free Lyft rides to March for Our Lives rallies across the country on March 24 (please remember, anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.),” they added.

Lyft is not alone in its “generosity.” Everytown for Gun Safety has offered up $2.5 million in grant money to ensure students have “operational resources” to organize and attend the rallies. George Clooney, Oprah Winfrey and Steven Spielberg have also donated $500,000 a piece for the cause.

My advice is don’t take the bait kids! There is no such thing as a free lunch or in this case a free ride. Corporations, activist groups and celebrities are champing at the bit to support these rallies for reasons other than you think. For them, it’s not about saving lives, it’s about enslaving minds.

You think CloonDog, Everytown and Lyft see you as anything but a future servant, shill or ride-share driver? Don’t think so. These “cultural influencers” are empowering you to disempower yourselves. They’re elated to see you run headlong down a path that leads to the death of the 2A. Because that not only cripples your ability to defend your way of life but it all but guarantees that those in power stay in power regardless of how oppressive society becomes. In the simplest possible terms, an armed man is a citizen. An unarmed man is a subject.

Before I continue on with this rant, allow me to ask a question. Why are you willing to trample a right that you don’t even understand or appreciate? To draw an analogy, it’s like a group of virgins volunteering to be castrated. Common sense would suggest that at the very least they’d like to know what they stood to lose before it goes bye bye.

Anyways, your educators have failed you. They’ve taught you that you have a right to feel safe. No right exists. What you have is a right to keep and bear arms. A natural right to self-defense. Your personal safety is a product of actions, not emotions. Feeling one way or another won’t make a bit of difference in terms of your actual safety. What will make a difference is how well you prepare to confront a threat.

The optimal way to ensure your safety is to responsibly exercise your 2A rights. I’m not just talking about buyin’ a gun and throwing it in the closet for a rainy day. Frequent range visits. Training with professionals. Learning local and state laws. Carrying concealed. All of that and more will increase your personal safety. But those footing the bill for this rally aren’t going to tell you that. They’re going to double down on government-based solutions (more gun control, more gun-free zones) to personal safety. Taking the power out of your hands to make you less free and less safe.

You think rampant gun ownership in the U.S. is the reason why there are mass killings? Think again. Guns aren’t the enemy, government is. It’s the government that bans guns in schools, leaving them defenseless. It’s government that says you cannot buy a handgun until your 21 years of age, leaving you defenseless. It’s government that tells us it will always keep us safe when, in fact, it cannot.

Look, spree killers aren’t going to go away. We’ve tried to legislate murder outta existence since, well, Moses came down from the mountain with the 10 Commandments. Guess what? Laws don’t stop mass murderers. Armed citizens do.

At the core of gun ownership is an elevated level of personal responsibility and self-reliance. Values absent from our increasingly progressive society. It’s the recognition that you are at the helm when it comes to protecting your life and your liberty. No one is going to do a better job at that than you. Once you realize this you’ll stop marching for your lives and you’ll start training to defend em.

Thanks for the “free ride” and fired Lyft driver info. I have used them many times in the past but that will cease TODAY! (And great idea for people to “use” them for counter-protesting! The dumbass execs never thought of that possibility. Lmao)

I’m with you. Rather than get the defenseless LYFT drivers out on the road without any self defense apparatus, I will find another way, SAFETY First.

    Glad I use Uber.

Pro-gunners should call and use the app as well…just don’t let them know you are on the pro side…

Just deleted my Lyft app and acct. I’m never going to support any company that caters to ant-gun policies.

Hopefully, Pro-Second Amendment teens will take advantage of this offer to go counter-protest at the rallies.

Be smart and keep a list of these willing dupes thinking they will be favored when the oppression increases.
There is nothing worse that giving a Boobus Americanus fame and fortune as they think they have arrived but are as lost as a bastard on Father’s Day? Bastards is indeed what they’ll be when the uber elite are finished with them.
Marx called it ” Useful Idiots ” . Sorry won’t cut it when the brainwashed throngs realize they have been had and with the help of their entertainment trained seals.

I drive for both and when I go on base I often pick up armed military personnel.

  • joefoam March 9, 2018, 9:52 am

Time for a boycott, hit them where it hurts, right in the wallet.

    • Gourdhead March 9, 2018, 1:02 pm

Spot on. That is all left wing douchebags understand.

  • Ram6 March 9, 2018, 8:34 am

What do you expect from a company based in San Francisco. Uber and Lyft both are overpopulated with bleeding heart, snowflake liberals. It’s one more reason not to do business with them.

This is great! Kids in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, etc. can get a designated driver to take them to Florida for a week to “attend” the rally. There is one on Daytona Beach, right???????

Oh, we want to stop at a gun range by Atlanta to shoot, okay if we bring our AR’s with????

    • Mike March 9, 2018, 7:26 am

Hahaha! Nice! I was about to post “hope you’re reading this Lyft ceo….I won’t be using you’re service” But on second thought the right thing to do is USE their service and go and show pro gun support. Equal opportunity protest transportation.

I deleted my Lyft account over a year ago due to their voicing their liberal political views through their business.
