Red Arrow Weapons of Red Arrow TV fame has a new semi-custom AR-15 out, the RAW15. The RAW15 is offered in two color schemes, with a Midnight Bronze finish with black accents or black with bright red highlights.
The RAW15 is designed to be a do-everything AR, chambered for 5.56 NATO. It’s a lightweight build intended for self-defense, shooting sports, competitions, hunting, and varminting as well.
“With the fit and function of this premium Red Arrow Weapons package it’s sure to become one of your favorite go-to rifles for many years to come,” said Red Arrow in the announcement.
The RAW15 is a 16-inch barreled carbine with a mid-length gas system and a full-length 15-inch free-floating modular M-Lok handguard, with a two-port DB15 muzzle brake peeking out the front. The rifle is built on forged 7075-T6 alloy upper and lower receivers with an anodized finish to match the handguard.
The barrel is 4150 steel with a 1-in-8 twist and the rifle comes with an 8620 steel M16 bolt carrier group, both with a black Melonite finish. The lower houses a CMC 3.5-pound, single-stage, flat trigger and either a Magpul or Strike Industries trigger guard, depending on the model.
The stock, pistol grip and magazine are all Magpul on both models, with an adjustable CTR buttstock, MOE K2+ grip, and polymer 30-round PMag, standard. The black and red RAW15 comes with the Strike Industries upgrades including the trigger guard, takedown pins, and charging handle.
Overall the RAW15 is a light rifle, weighing in at just 6.9 pounds unloaded, before optics and accessories. These specs are all solid and on-par with other similarly priced rifles.
