There are AR-15s and then there’s the Petra from Falkor Defense. A carbon fiber AR chambered in .300 Win Mag, this bad boy brings the magnum AR class to a whole new level. It’s unbelievably light, ridiculously accurate and jaw-droppingly powerful!
DemolitionRanch was lucky enough to have the opportunity to shoot one.
As one might expect, the price tag for the Petra is at a premium. $5,800. So, start saving now! LOL.

This is too cool!
The 300 wim mag is my go to rifle..
Works for elks and bears… and of course deer also…
Even though you “hunt deer” and you “eat and shoot elk”.
The big rounds seem to Just
what the doctor ordered…..Oh well it is a rental and will sure be nice to get some money
Talked to Josh at Falkor today and he told me the 1:11 twist on the Proof Carbon barrel is a misprint – it is 1:10. I was getting ready to buy Petra Shaddow but wanted to hear why they were using 1:11 as advertised on their site. I was glad to hear it was 1:10 at least.
A 20 inch barrel for a 300 Win Mag? Can you say muzzle flash? A 24 inch barrel would be good.
I need more cowbell . Build me a .338 Lapua AR.
That price is INSANE!
Nice caliber weapon but too much money for the extra thump. I’d buy a bolt action Ruger Precision rifle before I paid 5 large for a short barreled semi automatic.
I agree. Now they just need to make a Ruger precision rifle chambered in .300win and I think that would satisfy everyone’s need for a larger caliber.
They do! https://www.ruger.com/products/precisionRifle/specSheets/18081.html
Loved the rifle, nice video, but one thing bugged me the whole time, what was the grain of the 5.56 bullet you compared the .300WinMag to? Freudian slip, you said 55 grain I’m about 99% sure that was a 62 grain LAP round? Noreen Firearms at onlylongrange.com has some beautiful long range firearms like the BN408 semi-auto and a .338LM in semi-auto. And some bigger bolt action. But that .300WM at only 10 pounds, fantastic!!!!!
So $5k plus for this or an Omen, do they plan to charge us for the CNC machine that made the bigger receiver forever? And I guess they use it for nothing else? If there was one (of quality) and it were in the $2k range I’d already have one, but for $4k used to $6k new, not a chance ever. Also, if it is a 300WM, wouldn’t it be an AR10? AR15 is a wimpy 5.56 and the like. AR10 – 308 and thus same bullet diam and sizes as 300win – jus sayin
The Nemo Arms Omen comes in 338 Win Mag. It’s been around for a while…
Nemo also makes a carbon fiber barrel version of its AR based 300 Win Mag, besides it traditional steel barrel 300 win mag and 338 Lapua. Nemo also uses longer barrels to fully utilize the range capacity of these calibers. The carbon fiber barrel has a very short service life.
Nemo AR like but has a side charging reciprocating handle – Falkor has the ambi AR10 type charging handle. Falkor is 10.3 lbs – same as the 20″ SR-25 and a modest $1k more for 300 Win Mag – If you would even compare it to a Ruger RPR purchase, not even sure why you’d bother.
Nice weapon, .. but at $5,800 MSRP, there shouldn’t be an up charge for color/finish option…
