Photojournalist fundraising for pro-gun “We the people” book

Celebrated photojournalist Ben Philippi is a nice guy and a personal friend of mine. He is currently raising funds for his latest project, entitled, “We The People,” a book that celebrates gun culture in America.

Philippi traveled over 40,000 miles in his trips across the U.S. to snap photos and conduct interviews with many of the iconic faces of the gun community, including Milwaukee sheriff David Clarke, video blogger Iraqveteran8888, Second Amendment Foundation founder Alan Gottlieb, among others.

On his Indiegogo page, Ben describes the goals of his project:

With WE THE PEOPLE, I want to show US firearm owners for who we truly are: good, honest, responsible and hard-working citizens who own guns for all of the right reasons. For too long the media has painted us in a negative light and I’m tired of it. There’s nothing wrong with owning a gun!

Secondly, I want to celebrate the diversity of firearm owners. We come from a rich set of backgrounds.

Thirdly, I want to promote firearm safety, responsibility and trigger discipline. Owning a firearm is a big responsibility. Please get the proper training to be able to handle your firearm(s) safely, responsibly and of course, effectively.

Lastly, it’s fun! I love to shoot. Who doesn’t? Give me some ammo and nice gun and some targets and I’m a very happy camper.

For a nominal contribution, one will receive an autograph copy of the book and become a part of “We The People.”  If this cause resonates with you, please help Ben out. To learn more about the project, click here.
