Paris Attacks Precipitate Death Blow to Gun Rights Across EU

Internal Market and Industry Commissioner Elżbieta Bieńkowska, on the left and Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos, on the right who said about the gun-control package, "The adoption of the firearms package today is proof of the Commission's determination to address the new reality we are confronted with. We need to remove regulatory divergences across the EU by imposing stricter, harmonised EU standards for firearms and ensuring efficient exchange of information between Member States."

We need to remove regulatory divergences across the EU by imposing stricter, harmonised EU standards for firearms and ensuring efficient exchange of information between Member States.”

Keeping true to the immortal words or gun-control czar Rahm Emanuel, gun-grabbers in the European Union are not going to let a tragedy go to waste. They know that in the wake of the attacks in Paris emotions are at a high and sound reason is at a low creating an ideal environment to ram through comprehensive reforms that further disarm the citizens of Europe.

Furthermore, they know that people are looking for something to blame, something to direct their ire at, and they are quick to point to the hardware that millions of good guys use to defend themselves, their families and their property from evildoers.

As we’ve witnessed in our own country, this scapegoating strategy works. New York’s “SAFE Act,” Maryland’s “Firearm Safety Act of 2013,” Connecticut’s “An Act Concerning Gun Violence Prevention and Children’s Safety” — all draconian gun bans passed in the wake of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. Instead of focusing on mental health, school safety and gun-free zones, leaders in those states blew the bottom out of the Second Amendment all in the name of the false promise of “public safety.”

Now, the European Commission is doing the same. Though, it’s a bit different in the sense that in Europe, there is no Constitutionally-enshrined right to keep and bear arms. So, gun owners in the various member states are already at a disadvantage. And things are going to get a whole lot worse because the measures proposed by the European Commission basically deal a death blow to gun rights in the EU.

Below are the main elements of the package:

  • Stricter rules to ban certain semi-automatic firearms, which will not, under any circumstance, be allowed to be held by private persons, even if they have been permanently deactivated;
  • Tighter rules on the online acquisition of firearms, to avoid the acquisition of firearms, key parts or ammunition through the Internet;
  • EU common rules on marking of firearms to improve the traceability of weapons;
  • Better exchange of information between the Member States, for example on any refusal of authorisation to own a firearm decided by another national authority, and obligation to interconnect national registers of weapons;
  • Common criteria concerning alarm weapons (e.g. distress flares and starter pistols)in order to prevent their transformation into fully functioning firearms;
  • Stricter conditions for the circulation of deactivated firearms;
  • Stricter conditions for collectors to limit the risk of sale to criminals.

Read those over again! Those are insane! No private ownership of semiautomatic firearms, no online purchases, gun tracking, a unified registration scheme, crackdown on starter pistols and distress flares (are you kidding me?), tighter controls on antiques and collector’s items!

Have they completely lost their minds? Well, not yet because the measures still need to be approved by the European Parliament and Council. But, odds are given the nature of the anti-gun sentiment that is pervasive amongst the EU leadership, this package will be enacted.

“The recent terrorist attacks on Europe’s people and values were coordinated across borders, showing that we must work together to resist these threats,” said European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker.

“We are proposing stricter controls on sale and registration of firearms, and stronger rules to irrevocably deactivate weapons,” continued Juncker. “We will also come forward with an Action Plan in the near future to tackle illicit arms trafficking. Organised criminals accessing and trading military grade firearms in Europe cannot and will not be tolerated.”

Well, there you have it. EU leaders leveraging a tragedy to foist their gun-control agenda. You know, I’m not much of a conspiracy guy, but I am troubled by the fact that these measures were first introduced in the European Security Agenda in April of 2015 and were, as the press release states, “significantly accelerated in light of recent events.”

I’m not going to go so far as to say that the EU was behind the attacks in Paris, but don’t you think that with all the surveillance technology, manpower and money they have at their disposal they should’ve been somewhat aware that there was the potential for an attack? I mean, someone must’ve known something. And if so, why did they not attempt to do something about it? Was it to pave the way for another gun grab?

Honestly, I don’t know. But, I’d be hard pressed not to say, something’s rotten in the state of Denmark. In any event, what are your thoughts on all of this, the Paris attacks, the gun control package, the EU’s lack of knowledge about the attacks?

When the Germans were going to invade Britain during WW2, the people found themselves defenseless. The appealed to people of the U.S to send them their hunting rifles ,etc. These arms were then destroyed when the war ended. They were not sent back to the owners. They were destroyed! The British gov’t and the people of Great? Britain learned nothing! It will be a cold day in Hell before I would ever send a weapon to any country that restricts the people from self defense. This is what the Democratic Party wants to do in this country. No way ! Do not vote for any politition ,at any level of gov,t, that does not respect the 2nd Amendment or the people of this country!

The whole of Europe is a gun free zone compared to the U.S. While the U.S. has it violent events – Sandy Hook, Columbine, etc – the casualty list of these events are comparatively low compared to the European events. Hhhhmmmm…? What should we concluded from this? I know….let’s be like Europe and extend and expand gun free zones until they all blend together and there is no place that the that the terrorist/refuges can’t shoot there citizens like targets in a shooting gallery.

  • craig November 22, 2015, 5:53 pm

Once all the guns are taken away from the citizens, and they still have terrorists killing people, do you think these idiots will finally understand that disarming law abiding people was insanely moronic? Nah, they will takes knives next………..

France has abnegated: The rule of law now is a joke. You either have a country or you don’t – that’s what borders are for. This crisis was created by toppling Libya, which destabilized the region; and then using a proxy army to attack Syria; driving “refugees” – mostly non-Syrians, but almost all military aged young men with no documents – into Europe: Of course the influx is unsustainable and will collapse European states. Now does anyone really think that Russia would like to see nascent Muslim caliphates at their doorstep?…What will these quisling EU states do when Europeans are faced with their own extinction? The Russian bear hug (no longer communist) looks better by the day as Europeans wake up to the fact that they’ve betrayed by their leaders. My prediction is the EU will be destroyed and Europeans will look East. Putin is going to step in and do the job that NATO refuses to do: Provide for the common defense. It looks to me like the beginnings of a geopolitical shift the end of the EU in the making.

Way to go Europe and California… exactly what the IS wants disarm all of your citizens. What a great idea. Your average citizen isn’t the problem. Lawful gun ownership, no matter the caliber, capacity, auto or semi-auto, isn’t the problem. The black market arms scattered throughout the Baltics, the middle east, throughout the rest of the world, including the United States, not to mention suicide bombers who dont give two shits about the laws of man are the problem. I really don’t care what they do over there, but I dont want to see people having their freedom to defend themselves taken away anywhere.

Be Afraid! Be very afraid… not of the terrorists, but of the ignorance of people, and their falling in with the “government take care of me,” New World Order. Reason and logic no longer works on their brain-washed minds.

  • Mark From Bristol, IN. November 21, 2015, 1:30 am

Odd but true. France takes away everyone’s guns to protect them from themselves, and then allows muslims to to come in unimpeded and unchecked to be nice to them, and what happened on Friday November 14, 2015 after the two were combined? A date and outcome that history will never forget.

  • Concern individual November 20, 2015, 7:56 pm

The terrorist attacks that happen in Paris are extremely sad and troublesome. Politicizing the genocide of hundreds of people pursuing they own agendas for gun control in my opinion is a crime, but if the European People do not get involve and fight for the rights to protect themselves and their families there is nothing we the Americans can do other than feel sorry for all of them.
Seriously, what the French military or legionaries have to do with this terrorist attack? I found these comments idiotic and out of contest.
My prayers go to all the families affected by the terrorist attacks and I apologize for my political comments in the gun control matter. I hope that the entire world realize that a police state will never going to protect them and their families. As some of you mentioned, European countries posses very sophisticated vision systems monitoring the streets 24/7 but all the terrorist attacks throughout EU shows how vulnerable their peoples safety is. All the EU governments are opening the doors for the influx of Middle Eastern migrants where the IS or ISIS has said that they will infiltrate through those people to bring terror to the world, so rather than proposing laws that will actually help protect their people they are planning to totally disarm allowing only for the military and the police that clearly couldn’t prevent these series of attacks and for the criminals and terrorist to be the only ones with weapons. By the way since the EU governments are protecting the migrants they are protecting the terrorist mix with those as well so the EU people literally have now one to protect them not even themselves otherwise they will become criminals for doing so. May GOD help them because clearly no one else will.
In another note; let this be an eye opener for us in the U.S.A to stop all the politicians and the current administration from stepping all over our constitutional rights and to make this great country a 100% police state preventing us to defend ourselves and our families. We also need to raise our voices to the senate and the House of Representatives to stop bring potential terrorist to the US. There is no way that they could now or figure-out if this people represent a risk, since they have no documentation and as it has been establish a lot of them have the same passport just different picture on it and their country of origin have no databases for criminals or extremist. Once again this administration mislead the American people with no remorse and just think about it “they are supposed to protect us?.” If we allow them to take our right to defend ourselves them GOD help us all because like in EU nobody will.

“No private ownership of semiautomatic firearms, no online purchases, gun tracking, a unified registration scheme, crackdown on starter pistols and distress flares (are you kidding me?), tighter controls on antiques and collector’s items!” So, Europe had online firearm purchases before this? They didn’t have gun tracking nor registration before this? Sure sounds like they want all guns banned from civilians, working or not.

I guess it’s true what they say–anti-gunners just want to pile on laws after laws after laws.

  • Ricky Bobby November 20, 2015, 4:55 pm

You have to respect the genius strategy from the left here – Government failed to protect its citizens, Government failed to keep the blatantly illegal guns and grenades out of the hands of the bad guys — the FOREIGN bad guys who slipped past Government protected borders. Government intelligence services failed to detect this upcoming event – in spite of an international focus and effort by the entire free world’s intel services. I think we can agree that this was a gross failure bordering on incompetence of the Government, yet Government Officials remain unaccountable (and unpunished) to a man (or woman).

So, what’s their first reaction? Apologize to the citizens who’s trust they have breached with their failure of Government? No… Even admit to any failure on their own part, and turn to the solutions that expand a citizen’s ability to defend oneself? HELL NO!

Take note Americans – the idea of true “Freedom” is something that has been slowly and surely picked away from you one small piece at a time. Only you – yourself – cares about your personal freedoms. And if you – yourself – does nothing to keep them, they will disappear forever. Or at least until others are willing to step up and fight, die, and leave behind a legacy of freedom for another hundred and fifty years – which is about how long the good old US of A really held onto the foundations of ours. It’s just taken almost another 100 to see them really deteriorate. But as many have said, and all are correct – once the 2nd Amendment is gone, the rest will be very fast to follow.

My question is this – at what point do we really reach critical mass – wherein the irreversible effects of this deterioration of rights must be answered with the capabilities that remain to “protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all threats – foreign and domestic.” And also – what does a soldier, sailor, airman, or marine do when they have sworn this oath, and yet the biggest threat to the US Constitution is the CinC himself (and those like him, as well as those who support him)?

This stuff happening in the EU is just a foreshadowing of what will eventually happen here if we are not diligent and careful.

  • Keith November 20, 2015, 4:20 pm

You probably will not see a mass shooting like this in Switzerland. As many of us know a lot of the common citizens there own fully automatic rifles and know how to use them. Many citizens there also carry handguns for protection.

  • its me November 20, 2015, 4:04 pm

Lets make sure nobody can protect themselves, family or anyone around then by taking their only means of survival away from them. The first responders to any crisis are the people having the crisis. These are the people who need to be armed the most. These are times when arming all law abiding people makes more sense than taking their arms and leaving them defenseless. Two armed people taking 100 plus unarmed people is easy. Wouldn’t they have been surprised had they all been armed.

  • Kivaari November 20, 2015, 3:46 pm

Wasn’t one person armed only with a pump shotgun? Everyone else had already unlawful machine guns. This is the common theme among gun banners. We will never be rid of the evil that roams the hallways of the EU or DC.

  • PatriotGames November 20, 2015, 2:17 pm

First EU is being invaded my Muslim refugees pouring in from eastern Europe. Italy for example, has a serious problem due to this influx, and the EU is allowing it, really promoting it by lack of action.
We are doing the same thing in California, where the current majority in public schools are from Mexico.
The California gun laws are written in a liberal part of LA, where are a large group wants to bring Mexico’s ineffective gun bans to the United States, and since Mexican’s have become a very large voting block, they are doing just that.
Invade quietly take control, then ban weapons.
I’m not real sure who the heads of the EU are, but, at this point, they are going to allow the same situation, and sooner or later they either become figure heads, or replaced.
Sacrificing a few hundred people by inaction, to make a major push at securing power is nothing to these people.
Killing 200 people, or allowing it, and then spending three months with totalitarian police, intent on doing anything they want
strikes a major blow for gaining power for the people in power. They are the ones that most fear guns, and rightly so.
It’s pretty clear human life is not valued by a number of people in power.

This attack is a win win for the politicians. A couple hundred people they don’t care about get killed. They then use this to attack the group that they say did it, with ineffectual air strikes, making them look strong, caring, and willing to make the hard choices.
Meanwhile they send the Gestapo police around to get rid of any opposition to them, for THREE months, with martial law justifying any and all actions.
On top of that, they write stricter gun laws, that will make a totalitarian regime easier to maintain.
    Where are the Swiss?
They may well unite Europe. Seems the last time that was done was in 1940-45, and it seems the “politician”
used the exact same tactics to start with…

    • Ricky Bobby November 20, 2015, 5:01 pm

This is exactly why I am so tired of hearing about “Democracy.” We are a Representative, Constitutional Republic – not a Democracy. In a Democracy, majority rules. That’s not what anyone who dreams of freedom really wants, although many may say that. Because in a Democracy, individual rights don’t matter. Only what the Majority wants, the Majority gets. If the USA was a Democracy, then there would be NO CHANCE for a minority to ever “take over”- the White Majority would have won out long ago and banned all rights for Blacks, Hispanics, etc. Our Constitution is a document that’s drafted by the people, to the Government – limiting their power to govern us (not the other way around). And your comment makes my point perfectly – your fear of Mexican’s “taking over” isn’t really justified, unless the system, and its people, are corrupt – which is the real problem. We are a nation of immigrants, and it’s the respect and protection of the Constitution that really matters – not what race or religion is doing that protection. Focus on the real problem – the Government is out of control, not the Citizens.

      • PatriotGames November 23, 2015, 3:14 am

Problem is that the process of actually be educated as a citizen has value. Some idea of what this country is about.
If the current batch if illegals have that, at least the ones coming to the US, I doubt that.
The same problems in Mexico, theft, murder etc. are created by Mexico’s strict gun laws. Same reason
I’m never going to Acupulco. They don’t work, and the result is crime rampant.
        Same with Mexico City.

  • willowa November 20, 2015, 2:03 pm

And yet the head of INTERPOL has been quoted as saying, the only answer to terrorism is a citizen with a gun! Unfortunately, it seems they will always be after our guns, facts not withstanding. “No HONEST person has anything to fear from a law-abiding citizen with a gun!”

  • Roger November 20, 2015, 2:02 pm

It does not matter what the reasons are. or were, or what caused this type of proposal to restrict use of, and take away guns from people who had nothing to do with the massacre, and never will. The stipulations in the proposal are just plain ridiculous, insane and bad news for gun enthusiasts. Do not let it happen!

  • Itolduso November 20, 2015, 12:50 pm

If they think this attack was bad, just wait until the terrorists get smart enough to attack all the electrical sub-stations and gas distribution facilities ALL at the same time, in the middle of winter…

So because the Islamo-shitheads kill a hundred people, eurotrash lawmakers will disarm the population?
Do you think maybe that’s why they did it?

  • Nick Atkinson November 20, 2015, 11:10 am

I am sure that people who use guns illegally for any reason will be so scared now that a new law restricting their gun use activities will be laughing their asses off!

  • Richard Cancemi November 20, 2015, 11:08 am

The Socialists fear guns in the hands of the populace. They want no dangerous opposition to confront their fascist intentions. The always get everything backwards. The people without guns will be helpless to resist a totalitarian State AND they will be helpless against any terrorist attacks. Yet they say that they care about people. They care only about power over people and using them as their slaves

  • angel November 20, 2015, 11:05 am

WOW..Now that guns are needed for those that wish to fight back and possibly save some lives, including their own, the totally blind politicians want to make us’ safe’ by disarming everyone (;law abiding that is)…push or pull politicians are all elitist fools on both sides of the atlantic….

  • Bobo November 20, 2015, 10:29 am

If you recall after hurricane Katrina in LA police were entering people’s houses without warrants and seizing weapons in the name of keeping people safe. France has suspended civil liberties for three months giving police wide latitude to search for and seize weapons. The same thing can and has happened here. The weapons used by the terrorists were more than likely brought in from an Arab country as they were illegal in Europe.

  • Ken November 20, 2015, 10:26 am

They should have listened to SC Governor Nicky Haley following the Charleston Church shooting. “Following a tragedy like this people want something to blame. What is to blame here is this young man,who does not represent the State of South Carolina” I love that last part!

  • Mitch Barkett November 20, 2015, 10:19 am

Seems to me if they had a law requiring every law abiding citizen to own a gun or carry one the attacks would not have been so deadly. Gun free zones are death zones.

    • Gene November 20, 2015, 3:37 pm

      “Gun-free Zone” is “Target-rich Environment”

  • jim November 20, 2015, 10:17 am

I dont think this happened at all. Dont the leftys keep telling us that mass shootings dont happen in other countries?

  • Rick A November 20, 2015, 10:13 am

Not much different than the US disarmament tactics, though only a few states here have allowed it to happen.

You would think they’d be considering loosening laws for citizens, not making things easier for terrorists.

The proposed gun laws here and gun free zone nonsense is about the stupidest most ill conceived regulations imaginable. They concoct these ineffective laws and policies in order to conceive of more ineffective laws and policies for the goal of power and control.

  • Mike November 20, 2015, 10:11 am

None of these proposals would appear to address the problem of violent extremists illegally smuggling illegal weapons into the country to commit atrocities. Only effect appears to be to prevent responsible private citizens from arming themselves and defending themselves from such risks.

  • Alan November 20, 2015, 9:37 am

So are we to believe that these weapons were somehow Purchased within the Borders of France itself???
Now, we ALL know that’s just utter nonsense!!!
Unbelievable that anyone other than a complete idiot would buy that line of crap…
And I would point out that the “Mastermind” was boasting of his ability to come and go as he pleased.
Stupid French officials, the problem isn’t the guns, it’s the Islamist radicals you allowed to come to your country because you bought into Islam and the religion of peace B.S.
    So, no guns.
Ok, now they will concentrate on homemade bombs using common household chemicals, or mowing down people with cars, or arson and firebombing.
    IT’S THE ISLAMISTS, YOU FOOLS!!!!

  • Tom November 20, 2015, 9:25 am

Interesting how governments and terrorists love the same thing… a disarmed populace.

  • Denoferth November 20, 2015, 9:19 am

Typically stupid governmental response. I suppose it never occurs to politicians that murderous criminals determined to die for Allah could care less what foolish laws they pass. It should be obvious to all but the dumbest cowards watching the videos of the latest Islamist murders that the lack of defensive weapons resulted in needless deaths. The blood of those victims is on the hands authorities who prevented effective self-defense measures.

  • Tom November 20, 2015, 8:46 am

  • Chad November 20, 2015, 8:38 am

Yes, Europe MUST continue to provide Muslim terrorists with unarmed, live shooting targets. Can’t have any mischievous Europeans fighting back against those murdering thugs. Un-freaking-believable.

  • Mario November 20, 2015, 8:25 am

Unfortunately for Europe,,,we live in a new world now,,,and with terrorsist becoming more and more common,,,people are NOT likely to want to go unarmed,,and the latest attack is going ro reinforce that,,they will start to wonder what would have happened if someone around them HAS a gun and could have stopped these moron muslims in their tracks,,,and with the ease of getting illegal gun in Europe not to mention how easy they are to make at home these days,,good luck disarming ANY population now,,,anti-gun nazis everywhere have one thing in mind,,,disarming to be able to take control of the poplation fully,,,good luck with that,,

  • srsquidizen November 20, 2015, 8:18 am

Profoundly stupid since these terrorists got their full-automatics (already banned in the EU) the way criminals almost always get their guns: through ILLEGAL means. Moreover, they got them from other criminal foreigners they let into Europe without proper vetting, who proceeded to do what criminal arms dealers do: sell illegal guns to anybody because they don’t get prosecuted and either thrown in prison or sent back to the hellhole country they came from. Too bad they don’t recall that during the 20th century Europe’s greatest advocate for disarming all civilians (except for his devoted followers) was Adolf Hitler.

  • scooterwrench November 20, 2015, 8:16 am

Has anyone noticed that there hasn’t been a terrorist attack in Switzerland sine 1955? Could that possibly be because the majority of swiss men are given military training and when completed take their weapons home.
Terrorists tend to attack people that won’t shoot back!

  • Rev_dave November 20, 2015, 8:08 am

It is a bit odd that French security had no clue this would happen, even after the Charlie Hebdo murders – yet now they can track down new subjects daily.

So, when all of Europe is disarmed, what will stop ISIS – or even Putin – from rolling in en masse? With unarmed citizens unable to fight on their own, and governments completely unprepared for war, how will they resist? Where will the guns and ammo come from? How will they get to the citizens at the ‘front’ when the nation is already invaded by the enemy? I’ll tell you how – they’ll scream for the US to do it for them because they know we have guns!

I would gladly fight ISIS though I’m no longer ‘military age’, but I’ll be damned if I want to go bail out some country that disarmed itself in the face of a cancerous pandemic like ISIS. Stupid is as stupid does, and stupid has no evolutionary value.

  • Anthony November 20, 2015, 8:08 am

Once again Europe gets confused Thinking that a terrorist a criminal and a thug are the same as a citizen a legal law abiding citizen protecting themselves and carrying a gun. banning the use of guns are not going to stop these terrorists from obtaining weapons. terrorists attacking an area that the citizens are legally Armed chances are they will go to a unarmed population As the terrorists are cowards they are working off of fear and killing of others who are helpless. it would be interesting to see how many of those European head officials actually carry guns themselves and actually protected by armed guards Because their lives matter more than the civilians lives good luck Europe in banning citizens from protecting themselves

  • Bob November 20, 2015, 8:03 am

So with this coming can the US start accepting gun owning, euro refugees?

At least they would be beneficial unlike my expectations of what Syrian refugees will contribute.

  • Etienne November 20, 2015, 8:00 am

The EU is as stupid as Obama.

    • steve November 20, 2015, 10:27 am

Obama is not stupid, this fits right into his agenda to disarm Americans then total take over by the government, probably him

  • Jay November 20, 2015, 7:56 am

When you Stop, Look and dissect the bigger picture here in the USA and at events around the globe you will see this is all planned! This is a plan that has been going on for a very long time and it’s all for a One World Government type of rule. The obama administration is only one drop in the bucket of steps that are being taken. People think he’s stupid but he is just a puppet doing exactly what he is paid to do and disrupt American society to such a degree it’s ripe for the picking. These terrorist attacks are funded by someone ever thought about whom those people are? You cant even believe the press any more because of HR4310 which makes propaganda legal in the USA. Along time ago it was said a leader in the Communist party said “We will win world war three without a shot ever being fired in a conventional war” ” If we are not allowed to vote in a communist election, we will vote democrat” Weather those words are true or not, as things such as this really cannot be verified. All we have to do is to look at how most of the governments around the world have enacted so many laws with the slight of hand and it hopefully will make you wonder or at least look at how we are all being lead around by events, many of which are created to divide, distract and weaken individual rights! People are gullible, many to such a degree that we now have the phrase conspiracy theory, gun control, gay rights, transgender, I mean what’s the world coming too? Just some food for thought! The real bottom line is this, divided we will fall but united we will stand, I for one will stand the ground which my forefathers with blood, sweat and tears built for generations to come. I will stand on the foundation on which this country was built. The Constitution of the United States! I believe in Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness and it simply can not be done when freedoms are dictated by individuals who don’t live in the same world as the rest of us, as they have elevated themselves to god like status with the sweat off our backs and tax dollasr and rich individuals padding their pockets!

    • Concern individual November 20, 2015, 8:23 pm

Amen!! To add to your comments the government with their push for diversity and multiculturalism is only killing the American Culture so we lose our values and identity. I am not saying that only white people should be in the US but we shall maintain our culture and our values. We can live among any culture but that doesn’t mean we have to mix our cultures we only need to respect each other cultures but the American people shall not be force to change just because the government want to destroy the American spirit to have full control.
By the way I am an immigrant but I came to the US legally and learn the language and put myself through school and today I hold 7 professional degrees all in engineering with a successful career. I have children and grand children born and raised as Americans. The US received me with open arms and allowed me to have a family and a career, I am in debt for life and grateful. Because for all these reasons I respect the US culture and values and I am doing everything to protect them by teaching them to my children and grandchildren so they can take social and political action on protecting our values. I just hope that every American will open their eyes and become Nationalist and fight in the political ground and vote-out all the politicians with the agenda against our values and our culture and force all immigrants to abide to our laws, culture and values otherwise why shall we accept them if they come illegally and also want to change our ways and culture? Why shall we accept people from the Middle East that represent a risk to our security? Why it is our problem to feel sorry for them, when they don’t fight for themselves? Why do we need to send our children to fight a war that has nothing to do with us or our safety? Why is the government forcing us to accept gay marriage and gay adoption when it clearly goes against our values and the values that the US was form? Etc, etc, etc.

May GOD and Jesus our Lord bless the American People and help us all

  • Dave November 20, 2015, 7:53 am

Here in the usa we should put a full ban on all jets. So no crazyass people can fly them into buildings.

  • David November 20, 2015, 7:36 am

If you morons had any sense you would fully arm every able bodied citizen in your countries. Invading armies love a disarmed citizenry. It makes it so much easier to conquer a country that will not defend itself. If it were in my pervue to do I would NOT allow one red cent to help any country which refuses to help themselves. You can all burn when you become an islamic state.

  • Bob C November 20, 2015, 7:36 am

French citizens were attacked by terrorists. The government solution – make sure that future victims have absolutely no means to defend themselves. After all, it wasn’t the fault of an inept government failing to detect and prevent a known violent terrorist from pulling off a mass murder. No, it is the fault of the guns they had. To the European governments, terrorist are not nearly as scary as honest citizens… This convoluted thought process is geared toward making you a “subject” of the state and totally dependent upon “government”. Study history and you will see that “government” has historically killed far more citizens than all other criminal acts. But first “government” had to disarm its victim citizens.
The French citizens have more to fear from their own “leaders” than they do from terrorists. The people of France, whose underground fought so valiantly during WWII, have allowed their own government to cut off their b-lls.
I sure hope that US citizens do not sit by and allow that to happen here.

  • Lon November 20, 2015, 7:29 am

    More sitting ducks= happy terrorists.

  • Tom voloshen November 20, 2015, 6:58 am

What we should be doing now is pushing for more training and the creation of home defense mechanisms including militias and better arms for individuals and do like the Swiss and Israelied so that we can defend ourselves from wolves, terrorists and politicians.

  • Tom voloshen November 20, 2015, 6:51 am

What a bunch Of assholes. Machine guns are outlawed throughout Europe already. So the people in Paris have no carry permits and could not defend themselves, solution, take all good people’s guns away. These politicians are more concernsed for the consequences of their lack of leadership and the possibility people might rise up against them then anything else…..its that simple.

  • BigC November 20, 2015, 6:51 am

I’m sure terrorists and criminals all over Europe are partying upon hear this news!!!! IDIOTS!!!!!!!

  • montana3802 November 20, 2015, 6:25 am

Sure! Again the foolish politicians punish the law abiding citizen for the actions of the criminal. That is not going to stop the bad guy from attacking in gun free zones. When are they going to learn?

    • rabrooks November 22, 2015, 5:46 pm

If they were criminals that would be one thing. This was a military operation!

  • Heyoka November 20, 2015, 5:47 am

“James Madison: Americans have ‘the advantage of being armed’—unlike the citizens of other countries where ‘the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.’”

Well things have not changed in about 240 years. This is the exact reason why patterning our laws after those of Europe is as about as stupid as putting holes in a boat to let the water out.

  • Darren November 20, 2015, 5:14 am

It does not matter to these people that all the firearms and explosives used in tge Paris attack were all illegal already.

Europe used to be ruled by Kings and Queens and the commoners were just serfs. I see nothing has changed.

  • Martin Rettig November 20, 2015, 4:54 am

Forget NATO, as long as the American people elect people like Obama and soon to come Hillary, Europe is on their own, they fuck up again, no Americans coming to the rescue. So they shall die in the shithole they are creating by importing Islamic savages and disarming their own citizens.

    • montana3802 November 20, 2015, 6:26 am

      Well said!

      • steve November 20, 2015, 10:23 am

        Couldn’t agree more

    • rabrooks November 22, 2015, 5:45 pm

As we import more mudslimes too! At least ours will be intensely “vetted”……..

  • Dr. Strangelove November 20, 2015, 4:48 am

Europe is headed for a dictatorship. Historically, this is what happens when the people are disarmed.

  • Rock Cowles November 20, 2015, 4:28 am

    First you say: “Stricter rules to ban certain semi-automatic firearms, which will not, under any circumstance, be allowed to be held by private persons, even if they have been permanently deactivated;
Tighter rules on the online acquisition of firearms, to avoid the acquisition of firearms, key parts or ammunition through the Internet.”

You immediately follow that with: “No private ownership of semiautomatic firearms, no online purchases.” That is not what the first paragraph said at all. I am 100% pro second amendment (shall not be infringed!), but this looks like bullshit fearmongering! Stricter or tighter rules is not the same as none allowed. How can anyone believe what you say when you do this? When you destroy your own credibility in your own piece on your own page you appear unhinged and untrustworthy. Way to make it easy for the gun grabbers! Quit being a propaganda spewing shock jocks and state the facts. We can handle it and make rational decisions.

    • smithjac November 20, 2015, 10:05 am

Amen to that, state the facts in the context, there is still a valid argument without all the drama.

      • RiverCapt November 20, 2015, 12:25 pm

I am going to have to agree with Rock and Smithjac. I was reading your article with interest until you starting suggesting that the EU might be behind the attacks in Paris. You do not help the cause when you start sounding like someone wearing a tinfoil hat.

  • Pete November 20, 2015, 4:17 am

Yup, because we all know that terrorists will immediately turn in all prohibited firearms and devices.

    • Bobocat November 20, 2015, 7:55 am

This is how we can help. We send Clinton and Bloomberg over and they will take all the guns from the bad guys, ha!

  • A. Person November 20, 2015, 4:06 am

Saw a video today from inside one of the eating establishments that got shot up in Paris. For a few moments the guy was just calmly lingering around in front of the shot out window, doing nothing. It was a small place. The first thing I thought about was what an easy shot that would have been. Think how many people that might have saved. It would have been so easy, but nobody was allowed to do so.

  • Terrence MacArthur November 20, 2015, 4:01 am

I hate to agree, even in part, with anything that a certain well known and slightly whacky presidential candidate said, but if it weren’t effectively impossible for French citizens to carry any kind if firearm, there IS a decent chance that the damage done by at least one of the seperate attacks would have been cut short when some armed citizen took the terrorist down.

  • Will Drider November 20, 2015, 1:41 am

Same old wolf in the guise of a sheep dog. They are only doing it to “protect you” from other sheep that would not harm you anyway. Only the Governing Bodies retain their teeth and the other vermin can still kill you easier as you are made defenseless and there is no protector for the flock.

Their initiatives are no different from the all the other empire builders who incrementally rendered there populations harmless as the tyranny grew. Some of these tyrannical governments then cut a path to wars larg and small, other just surrendered their citizens to the whim and will of every criminal with an urge to rape rob and murder.

Notice that after the Charlie attack and it will be the same with the recent one: there is never any release of firearm tracking results! How many demilled firearms were used in these attacks and other crimes? Not a single word on explosives, that part must not be a problem. Didn’t the EU Plan push for open borders to ease travel and commerce flow, kill the passport requirement between member countries? What a perfect environment for jackals to thrive. So much for all that New World Order bull crap that keeps showing its ugly head. Think this EU gun grab is bad? Just wait for the U.N. to a new small arms Treaty directed specifically at controlling, restricting, and confiscating firearms from civillians. You can bet the farm they are typing something right now. KEEP YOUR POWDER DRY AND TOOLS IN CONDITION ONE.

  • Chuck Roast November 19, 2015, 8:52 pm

The French are unbelievable. I guess it is all for the best. Usually all they do with a firearm is throw it down and put up their hands anyway.

    • Pete November 20, 2015, 4:24 am

Try saying that to a Legionnaire and you will find yourself breathing and eating out of a tube for the rest of your life. Actually, the French showed more guts then most contemporary Americans are capable of in the French Resistance and underground, but that is not often spoken of by Americans. The main reason they were invaded in both world wars was the incompetency of the government officials, generals in the high command, and obsolete equipment and logistics. They solved those problems along the way and are now pretty good at what they do, DeGaulle saw to that while he was in charge.

      • Ryguy November 20, 2015, 6:26 am

Legionnaires are by definition foreigners. Next argument please.

        • Bobocat November 20, 2015, 7:52 am

Remember world war II, why did we call them “FROGS”.

        • Dr Motown November 20, 2015, 10:22 am

Touche, Ryguy! Pete is grossly misinformed. The actual French Army hasn’t deployed since World War II, preferring to stay nice and comfy on French soil. All their campaigns in Indochina, Africa, and Tunisia were handled by foreign volunteers and mercenaries.

          • rabrooks November 22, 2015, 5:33 pm

So, how’s that open border thing working out? Those bone-headed libtards got exactly what they wanted! When you disregard history and seek to implement your “pie-in-the sky” nice all together ideology, you’ll soon find out why the system of governments and countries that has existed since the beginning of time works so well! Open borders is exactly that. Anyone can come and go. And with their insane immigration policy, they got exactly what they deserve. However, after seeing the error of their ways, they will continue letting more refugees in. Adding to that the problem of open borders which anyone can bring anything into any country. Just inventory the small cache of “abandoned” terrorists’ weapons, shows that these are far from the weapons that most folks desire to and have.
So, true to their twisted logic, they do the worst possible thing by making it impossible for civilian world to defend themselves. Of course the ‘nanny state” will show up, just in time to bag and tag em. Most people don’t want to wait that long. If just one or two people were carrying, things might have been much different. Never mind that the terrorists’ weapons were from outside the country. Never mind that the actors were known terrorists.
So as usual the schizophrenic, confused and tyrannical regime, doesn’t choose to fight the enemy, but takes that easy pickins’ by attacking the civilians’ only means of protecting themselves right now, when help from the state is hours away. They did the exact opposite of what makes sense. Maybe after some of them get killed they will see it differently. Fat chance. They prefer to have us hide and wait, attack the terrorists with books, food and drink, or simply beg for our lives. We could learn passages from the koran and fake being mudslimes. Either way, I’m not ready to have my life depend on a terrorist’s sympathies.

      • Who Dat November 20, 2015, 7:51 am

Most Legionnaires are not French (24%). As for the remainder of your comment, you really don’t have a good understanding of European history.

        • JAMES PETERS November 21, 2015, 1:26 am

OUR PATH STARTED DOWNHILL WHEN WE LET IRAN TAKE OVER OUR EMBASSY ,AHD OUR GUTLESS WONDER PRESIDENT CARTER DID NOTHING EXCEPT GIVE THEM LIP SERVICE.WE SHOULD HAVE GIVEN THEM 24 HRS TO RELEASE OUR PEOPLE, THEN BLOW AWAY ONE OF THEIR LARGE CITIES IF THEY DID NOT COMPLY—-THEY WERE RELEASED THE DAY REGAN TOOK OFFICE, WONDER WHY NOW OUR LEADERSHIP SEEMS LIKE THEY DONT WANT TO OFFEND THE SCUMBAGS THAT WANT KILL US ALL——HOW DID WE EVER GET SO WEAK LIKE BLEETING SHEEP

      • Michael Byrnes November 20, 2015, 8:28 am

I feel for anyone who’s lost anyone close to them from the attacks in France or any other act done by terrorism and war. If our “leaders” had done what was really necessary before then all this crap wouldn’t be going on. October 12, 2000 is when this shit really started and because the US government ignored it the worlds eyes needed to be opened by a much bigger display so just under a year later they gave us September 11, 2001. Instead of justice from those who vowed it would happen this pussy ass president is letting these murderers walk free. He showed everyone the size of his nuts by negotiating with terrorists. If that’s not the definition of an ISIS or Islamic terrorist sympathizer I’m not sure what else is. They’re being brought into stay in our prisons to convert others or they’ll walk in as ” refugees ” looking for ” help.” With that said if you think Americans are going to allow ourselves to be completely disarmed and just lay down while the government comes to TRY and take away “the rights we have been given” well they and everyone else are sorely mistaken. Not everyone in this country are cowards like those in California and even most of those (hopefully) aren’t either. We aren’t Australia and Europe or anywhere else with bullshit gun laws. We are AMERICANS. I have no hidden message here but for those who don’t know you should find out why the ability of impeachment of a president was passed to begin with. It’s actually pretty damn funny but of course very sad at the same time. “Never lay down and die just because it’s easier to only be remembered a coward. Stand up for your people a hero and live forever.” You can quote me on that. Unless someone else said it already but either remember it. Don’t be an obama. You can quote that to.

        • Jonathan November 20, 2015, 12:37 pm

“October 12, 2000 is when this shit really started ”
False. Khobar Towers and the attacks on the facilities in Kenya and Tanzania happened before that. As did the first WTC bombing. And that’s just Al-Qaeda as an organization, the concept of Islamic terrorism has been around for hundreds of years.

      • CJK November 20, 2015, 9:42 am

Ah, history repeating itself…you are correct in your assessment pointing out the incompetency of the government officials. It seems they are still carrying on with that fine tradition.

      • Evan November 20, 2015, 12:34 pm

The Legionaries are not only foreigners, but they are also grossly incompetent soldiers. They’re basically a prison gang with guns. Tough, but no real training in small unit tactics or actual infantry skills.

And the French resistance in WWII was largely imaginary. It existed on a small scale, was relatively inept compared to the Dutch, Norwegians, Poles, and basically every other resistance, and its role was grossly inflated after the Allies came in and the French stopped collaborating with the Germans and started collaborating with the Allies. Suddenly every Frenchman and his brother was a member of the “resistance”, when he’s been polishing some German officer’s boots 15 minutes prior.

      • Josh November 20, 2015, 3:03 pm

Honestly, no self-respecting legionnaire would put someone in the hospital for such a minor offense. Don’t be an idiot

      • 33Charlemagne November 20, 2015, 9:52 pm

The French SS fought very heroically against the Soviet troops invading Berlin in the Spring of 1945

    • Adam Jeppson November 20, 2015, 11:27 am

Well, that was a predictable, knee-jerk, ass-hole-ish kind of thing to comment. People died. Killed by evil people. That simple. This is the time to call to arms, and be on full alert not toss out sophomoric racial slurs. We are in real danger from the forces of evil here in all of their forms. Foreign AND domestic. Put away the stupidity, grow a set of iron balls and get ready, nay, engage in the fight because we are at war now and the enemy is emboldened.

    • Gary November 20, 2015, 11:43 am

Ask the Germans, roll seven tanks into Paris and they give you the country on a platter. I’m surprised Merkel isn’t saying we will takeover your security the north portion of your country.

    • Mike Cornett November 20, 2015, 3:59 pm

So, do you think these guns go up and shot all these people by themselves. No. It took a bunch of terrorists. Scum of the earth.
What would have happened if a few of the citizens were carrying guns ? These could have been a very different outcome.

    • AL December 2, 2015, 5:21 pm

I guess you don’t know much about the french. We might not have a loud mouth but when it’s time to fight, we ain’t backing out.

  • GeorgeB. November 19, 2015, 3:54 pm

For several years my wife and I have lived three months of the year in France. I keep a Winchester.30-30 lever action there with a friend in the Limousin area where I have hunted wild Boar with him. European boars are not for sissies – they arelarger and quicker than the U.S.variety.The only significantrestriction I have encountered is a total ban on “fusils de guerre”(war weapons – anything holding more than four rounds and all pump-action weapons. Thus my Sporterized ’03-A3 Springfield is out as is my Remington 870. If I need a shotgun for upland game, I can usually borrow one from a neighboring farmer. Bringing the meat home is another matter – those ICE beagles at ORD are unforgiving!

Send this to a friend
