NRA Sues San Francisco After City Declares It A ‘Domestic Terrorist Organization’

in 2nd Amendment – R2KBA, Authors, Current Events, S.H. Blannelberry, This Week

The National Rifle Association is punching back at the city of San Francisco this week with a lawsuit in federal court.

The NRA is suing the city and its Board of Supervisors for recently passing a resolution declaring that the pro-gun group is a “domestic terrorist organization.”

In the lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, the nation’s longest-standing civil rights organization argues that the “government cannot discriminate against citizens based on the viewpoint of their political speech.”

The resolution also calls on the city and country of San Francisco to “assess the financial and contractual relationships our vendors and contractors have with this domestic terrorist organization” in an effort to freeze out funding and support for the group.

Calling the whole stunt “obviously unconstitutional,” the NRA notes, in the suit, that this latest attempt to blacklist members and strong-arm financial institutions into cutting ties with the group simply won’t stand.  It didn’t work when New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo tried it nor did it work when city council members in Los Angeles tried it

Like with those prior cases, the NRA argues, the court “must step in to instruct elected officials that freedom of speech means you cannot silence or punish those with whom you disagree.”

Board Supervisor Catherine Stefani authored the resolution (see video above).  A former prosecutor and current leader in the Bloomberg-funded Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, Stefani told local news station KQED that the NRA is using fear and intimidation to push its pro-gun message.

“When they use phrases like, ‘I’ll give you my gun when you pry it from my cold, dead hands’ on bumper stickers, they are saying reasoned debate about public safety should be met with violence,” Stefani explained.

San Francisco mayor London Breed has not signed the resolution.  She hasn’t vetoed it yet, either.  If she doesn’t take action by Sept. 13 the resolution will take effect.

But a lawyer for the NRA didn’t seem too nervous about the outcome of this case, indicating, as the lawsuit laid out, the First Amendment protects free speech.

“This action is an assault on all advocacy organizations across the country,” NRA attorney William A. Brewer III told NPR. “There can be no place in our society for this manner of behavior by government officials. Fortunately, the NRA, like all U.S. citizens, is protected by the First Amendment.”

As I listen to this reasoned debate that concludes that I must be a terrorist, and having listened to the irrational ravings of the best minds they have during the impeachment hearings, I have come to the conclusion that if these libtard progressives actually gain control in the Senate, the House, and the Presidency, we are going to be witness to future Ruby Ridge and Waco events. Randy Weaver and David Koresh can both testify from what results from the reasonable debate offered up by the anti gun, anti 2 amendment supporters who have labeled me a terrorist. Of course Koresh would have to testify from the grave, and Weaver from his dead son and wife’s graves.

I heard a rumor that William Barr recommended no prosecution for Lon Horiuchi, the FBI sniper who killed Vicki Weaver.

When our elected officials are sworn in and take an oath to uphold the Constitution, who holds them accountable when they dont?
What recourse is there for blatant, willful disregard for the oath?

  • John Payne September 16, 2019, 3:56 am

Guns don’t kill people, crazy people kill people, they will find a way when guns are banned!

    • Walter September 18, 2019, 12:56 pm

What hypocrites this witch-hunt should be rightfully addressed to Planned Parenthood. If their was ever a terrorists organization it’s them. Over 50 million children killed in the womb.
I’m sure this liberal moron is a strong supporter of them!!!!

  • jim cukrowicz September 13, 2019, 8:56 pm

You know, if these people get rid of the electoral college the large urban city dwellers will control politics on a national level so be vigilant on any attempts on this tradition in the name of more fair elections and better representation; or any other misdirecting excuse

  • Andrew N. September 13, 2019, 7:15 pm

Look at her eyes. She already has that helpless, stuck-in-the-headlights-deer look. She’s afraid of anything, and too afraid to do or say anything about the REAL problems in San Fran. Another fine example of a person who would step over a person lying in their own urine to spit on an NRA member. Stupid Liberal.(Like there’s any other kind)

You been debating us for years yet you arent worm food.
People like you are getting tired of your futility and want to take it to the next move need to know we are waiting for you, some of us eagerly waiting.

  • Don Richardson September 13, 2019, 5:43 pm

As seen in the popular leftist theory of intersectionality, any deviation from the leftist ideology is considered by them (the leftists) as violence. While some of them can make statements which sound somewhat reasonable, when you look at their ideology overall it is – Destroy individual freedom, give the government total control of everything and all will be rainbows and lollypops. … Of course, every example of such in the past has ended in the slaughter of millions (see Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, etc) -…- WAKE UP. VOTE. Any vote for a lefty is a vote for the destruction of the U.S.A. as founded.

  • Dave L September 13, 2019, 1:07 pm

That bumper sticker is not sold by the NRA.

    • Dan September 13, 2019, 2:55 pm

That’s what I thought too, so she has already lost the lawsuit against her.
That shows how stupid people like that are.

How do mentally ill people get elected?

    • Dan September 13, 2019, 3:00 pm

That is the question that needs to be addressed.
ALL candidates for an elected office need to have thorough background checks and mental fitness exams, before they can go on the ballot.
Way too many of them are criminals of one kind or another, and have obvious mental illness issues.
What’s good enough for the goose is good enough for the gander.
It is even more important with federal or state political offices, since they affect the entire country or state.

      • Oohrah September 15, 2019, 5:08 am

Not a one could buy a gun due to mental health issues! None should be allowed into public office for the same reason!

    • Eric September 13, 2019, 4:33 pm

Often, it’s the mentally ill that seek power, because they love lording over others. This is because, back when they were in school, no one ever listened or paid attention to them and their dim-witted ideas. If they can get in the spotlight …. “Hey! I’m famous!….” Insert ridiculisms galore, knowing that some simple-minded people might be persuaded to follow nonsense.

    • Ron Stowe September 19, 2019, 4:11 pm

Because dead people and ILLEGAL aliens are voting.

  • Mac September 13, 2019, 11:02 am

Apparently, if you state publicly, or on a bumper sticker, that you support capital punishment, that means you’re an unreasoning, unforgiving, pessimistic, heartless murderer.

  • Buddy September 13, 2019, 10:54 am

Forced Confiscation of your right to self defense is not reasonable debate! It is tyranny that will lead to violence. You are the terrorists destroying our cities and murdering new borns! Who else will you decide it’s your right to murder after you confiscate the guns?

  • Ralph September 13, 2019, 10:23 am

Think actual “reasoned debate”, which, in the view of people like Ms. Stefani is , “I tell you what to do and you do it”, is really beyond the grasp of leftist ideologues. They simply do not allow, in their emotional realm, interlopers. You either are 100% or you are irrelevant and need to be “humanely eliminated from the social discourse”.

    • Dan September 13, 2019, 3:32 pm

Yes, where is or was that so called “reasoned debate”?
Either I missed it, or it never happened, and I suspect that it never happened.
I also expect that it will never happen, for the reasons you mentioned.
Not surprising that this is coming from San Francisco, which is the rectum of that State.
California continues to prove that they are the granola State of Nuts, Fruits and Flakes.
Now they are adding turds on top of all that granola bowl.

  • Earl Haehl September 13, 2019, 10:01 am

Note here that San Francisco is not a sovereign government exercising sovereign powers, but rather a municipal corporation organized under the laws of California. This action is basically a declaration of outlawry, a practice finally ended by Britain in the 1830s, I remember the jingle in Disney’s Robin Hood , that “he robs the rich to aid the poor, a most unusual practice/but now that they have outlawed him, he need not pay his taxes.” The United States Constituion, (Article I, Section 9:3) says, “No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed.”

This also allows politicians to condemn people and organizations without an legal effect. And I can, with as much legal effect, say that the San Francisco Board of Supervisors is made up of superciiious opportunists. In 1977 i purchased some film and a Chodoy (Chinese cleaver) in a trip to Giardelli Square–but I do not generally support the California economy any more than I have to.

  • Patrick McWilliams September 13, 2019, 9:54 am

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors has invited the homeless and drug-addicted from the entire planet to come and befoul their streets and public spaces. The NRA should consider it a badge of honor to be denounced by such people.

  • Bob September 13, 2019, 9:33 am

Ahhh California the land of the nuts and fruits. Typical libturd will understand the consequences of her actions once the lawsuit progresses.

  • Stravo Lukos September 13, 2019, 9:32 am

I’m a bona fide terrorist. I tell the truth.

  • Michael R Stuhr September 13, 2019, 9:25 am

“When they use phrases like, ‘I’ll give you my gun when you pry it from my cold, dead hands’ on bumper stickers, they are saying reasoned debate about public safety should be met with violence,”

That implies that they think gun confiscation is “reasoned debate” It is for people like these that we have a second amendment.

  • mikeb September 13, 2019, 8:33 am

As an unsanitary, drug and criminal infested 3rd world equivalent city, the NRA should encourage its members to avoid San Francisco.

  • srsquidizen September 13, 2019, 7:49 am

Typical libtard “reasoning.” IF somebody is pulling your gun from your cold dead hands because they just killed you, the perpetrator of your death was not exactly engaging in “reasoned debate.”

    • Rod Smalt September 13, 2019, 9:49 am

      Well said.

      • Andrew N. September 13, 2019, 7:12 pm

Is this the Rod Smalt of the Old Buzzards? Andrew Newton of the same here.

    • Eric S. September 13, 2019, 11:39 am

This is exactly the point I have been trying to make for years, those who own guns are crazy and violent so the answer is take the guns from them even if we have to kill them to do it, that is the only way to protect them from themselves. That sounds like crazy talk if you ask me but they are willing to be violent in order to prevent the possibility of violence from those who only want to be able to protect and defend themselves from violence. No wonder every one of the left wings are confused, they talk circles and tell you that it’s the right thing to do and the poor and uneducated fall for it every time.

  • Nanook September 13, 2019, 7:23 am

SF Board of stupidvisors, the bumper sticker implies that you are attempting to take a constitutionally guaranteed right away!!! This is not in any way stating that debate will be met with violence… In order to be qualified as a stupidvisor, you must have an inability to understand the English language.

  • SuperG September 12, 2019, 10:30 am

She has the same insane “bug eyed” look that AOC does, so no wonder she is mouthing stupidities. Does she blame Ford when someone gets into an auto accident? Does she blame the spoon for making her fat? Inanimate object are just that. It is the person to blame for abusing it.

    • Dan September 13, 2019, 7:09 am

Yes, I noticed her insane ‘bug eyed’ face too, and she is an obvious typical ShitFrancisco nut case.
She is also blaming the NRA for those bumper stickers that she is against, but I don’t think the NRA makes those bumper stickers, or has anything to do with them. If not, then her argument is not only unconstitutional, but insanely illogical, which would confirm her insanity and/or stupidity.

  • Bobs your uncle September 11, 2019, 12:10 pm

Don’t look at the homeless on the streets, don’t look at the poop, don’t look at the fraud and government waste, don’t look at the wonderful sanctuary cities, don’t look at the drug addicts shooting up, crime etc. etc. infinitum. Nope, its dumb ass, at a newer and higher level than anyone ever thought possible. and of course it will drag on in the courts for years at a huge cost to taxpayers.

    • Dan September 13, 2019, 7:37 am

Yes, these insane nut cases cannot get their priorities in order, and ignore the obvious problems they already have while creating another one. It is proof that government attracts, and is full of stupid, insane and mentally ill people. I also suspect there is a Soros front organization paying off these nut cases in addition to that Bloomberg front organization.
