The NRA has reaffirmed its support for Donald Trump’s nominee for United States Attorney General, Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL). The gun rights group applauded Sessions’ testimony during his confirmation hearing. Sessions has a solid pro-gun track record and the NRA is asking supporters to contact their senators and ask them to confirm Sessions for Attorney General.
Sessions’ main priority is to prosecute criminals that use firearms in the commission of crimes. “If I am confirmed, we will systematically prosecute criminals who use guns in committing crimes,” he said. “As United States Attorney, my office was a national leader in gun prosecutions every year.”
He also clearly stated that he would not run the Attorney General’s office as an extension of the Executive branch.
“The Office of the Attorney General of the United States is not a political position, and anyone who holds it must have total fidelity to the laws and the Constitution of the United States,” said Sessions in his opening remarks. “He or she must be committed to following the law. He or she must be willing to tell the President ‘no’ if he overreaches. He or she cannot be a mere rubberstamp to any idea the President has.”
“He or she also must set the example for the employees in the Department to do the right thing and ensure that they know the Attorney General will back them up, no matter what politician might call, or what powerful special interest, influential contributor or friend might try to intervene,” said Sessions. “The message must be clear: everyone is expected to do their duty.”
“The Justice Department must remain ever faithful to the Constitution’s promise that our government is one of laws, not of men,” added Sessions. “It will be my unyielding commitment, if I am confirmed, to see that the laws are enforced faithfully, effectively, and impartially.”
Sessions comments were music to ears of the gun lobby.
“Given the prior administration’s propensity to stretch federal statute beyond its plain or intended meaning, gun owners should find such devotion to the rule of law a refreshing change,” said the NRA, endorsing Sessions.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) said that he “is a man of honor and integrity, dedicated to the faithful and fair enforcement of the law who knows well and deeply respects the Department of Justice and its constitutional role.”
Senators Susan Collins (R-Maine) and John Cornyn (R-Texas) also showed their support for his nomination. “I can vouch confidently for the fact that Jeff Sessions is a person of integrity, a principled leader, and a dedicated public servant,” said Collins.
“You’re a good and decent and honorable man,” added Cornyn. “You’ve got an outstanding record that you should be proud of, and I know you are and you should be.”
It is for these reasons that the NRA set up a website to help voters contact their senators and join them to back Sessions for Attorney General.
I reside in New York State and I have been following the efforts of Jeff Sessions for years now. He never fails to represent the concerns of his constituents in Alabama, and he has never used his office to oppress or abuse the American public at large. Sessions is truly a man for all seasons.
When he said that America is a nation of laws, I feel that he will treat the Hildabeast fairly. By that, I mean Jeff Sessions will afford the Hildabeast her day in court to answer for her behavior in using her Private e-mail server to send and receive sensitive government information in a grossly negligent way. At least 650,000 e-mails were handled by that server. That’s 650,000 possible felony counts that could carry 650,000 sequential jail sentences. Yep, that could be a jail sentence of over 1 million years, since each count could mean 5 years in prison.
If a jury ever finds her guilty I would love to see a video of her reaction in the court room. Not that I would like to see her have a stroke …………..wait a minute. Yes I would! But hey, anyone that enabled countries hostile to American interests to easily download EVERYTHING in her e-mail server, deserves an all expenses paid vacation at Leavenworth Prison. Oh, did I mention that Federal sentences do not include the possibility of early parole?
As I type this, 3:00 pm on January 20th 2017, there is no indication that obama gave her a Presidential pardon for any crimes that she might have committed while she was serving as Secretary of State. The Hildabeast now understands that he left her to twist in the wind of American justice. Perhaps this stress alone will aggravate her Parkinson’s disease. Things are getting better and better.
