“Blueprinted from birth” is how Nosler describes their all-new Model 21 bolt-action rifle. The Nosler Model 21 is a lightweight hunting rifle launching now, chambered for a wide variety of popular hunting and target shooting rounds as well as a spread of precision Nosler cartridges.
The Model 21 is essentially a semi-custom rifle, built exactingly to Nosler’s specifications, produced in large enough numbers to keep prices competitive. At the core of the Model 21 is a true custom Mack Brother action, based on the EVO action with Nosler-engineered customizations.
“It’s been nearly two decades since we introduced the very first Nosler rifle on our popular Model 48 platform,” said Nosler Inc. President John Nosler. “From day one, we set out to produce some of the most reliable firearms in the industry and our new Model 21 is no exception.
“This new firearm marks an exciting expansion of the Nosler rifle brand, offering an economical option that bridges the gap between standard production assembly rifles and feature-rich customized builds.”
The modified Nosler-EVO action is machined using wire EDM equipment, a process that produces exacting, repeatable work, which is essential for precision rifles. The action is matched with a spiral fluted, one-piece 4340 chrome-moly steel bolt with a hard nitride finish that can be taken down without any tools.
The fluting doubles as both lightening cuts as well as sand cuts to promote reliability in adverse conditions. The bolt uses a modified M16-style extractor and ejector and the bolt handle has 5/16-24 threads to accept interchangeable bolt knobs.
Additionally, the actions have enlarged ejection ports for easy clearing and reloading. All of the receivers are drilled and tapped for optics and each rifle comes with a set of rails for scope rings.
The actions are paired with hand-lapped, match-grade Shilen stainless steel barrels, with recessed target crowns and either 1/2-28 or 5/16-24 threads. They also come with knurled stainless steel thread protectors.

Like a lot of premium lightweight hunting rifles, the Model 21 comes standard with a carbon fiber stock, which brings the overall weight of these guns to right around 7 pounds dry. The stock has a dark epoxy finish with a light speckle pattern to break up in a wide range of environments.
Every Model 21 comes with a single-stage TriggerTech Field adjustable trigger. The trigger can be set from as little as 2.5 pounds to 5 pounds. Depending on the chambering the Model 21 magazine holds 3 or 4 rounds and will have either a 22- or 24-inch barrel.
Cartridge options include 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 Performance Rifle Cartridge, .280 Ackley Improved, .308 Winchester, .300 Winchester Magnum and .375 H&H Magnum. Nosler chamberings include 22, 26, 27, 28, 30 and 33 Nosler.
The Model 21 has a list price of $2,495. For more information check out Nosler today.
