Magnum Research is well known for its big and powerful Desert Eagle pistols, but it has been taking a slightly different tack with new variants they were showing at SHOT Show 2017. While they are still big and powerful, Magnum Research has worked to make them lighter and more portable, namely with the L5 Lightweight.
Designed to address the New York state law restricting the sale of pistols that weigh more than 50 ounces, the L5 Lightweight cuts off about two pounds from the weight of a standard Desert Eagle. It accomplishes this by being slightly shortened and featuring a lightweight alloy frame. New from 2017 is the fact that the L5 is offered in .357 and .44 Magnum.
Also new for 2017 is the L6 Desert Eagle on .44 and .357 Magnum. All the features you know and love about the design are there (top and dustcover rail, integrated muzzle brake, etc.), but now in these two new chamberings. As always, Magnum Research is offering conversion kits to convert their pistols from .50 AE to .44 Magnum to .357 Magnum, if you want one gun that can do it all.
Also new on show at the 2017 SHOT Show was a case hardened Desert Eagle pistol. Although not officially part of the lineup at this point, Magnum Research was gauging response to it at the show to see if it was worth adding to the line. We were told to keep an eye out for it to appear this year, so it looks like the response was positive!

They should quit pointing that pistol at each other! Hurts to watch!!!
I agree. Holy s**t Gun show and cleared guns or not…You sweep me like that and I’m calling you on it. You don’t change it, interview over. That’s how UD’s happen later when your guns are hot and your behavior is set.
loose the finger slots on the grip. The only person they fit is the guy who designed them.
That is some nice muzzle control.
