New From McMillan Fiberglass Stocks; The Z1 - SHOT 2020
The Z1 is the first stock with McMillan’s new universal inlet.

McMillan Fiberglass Stocks is offering a new competition-style precision rifle stock called the Z1. This new stock is everything that you would expect from a McMillan stock, having aluminum pillars, neat color options and adjustable features to help fit the stock to the individual. That said, the Z1 is the first in McMillan’s new line of universal stocks.

The Z1 has an oversized barrel channel cut, which will fit most any contour barrel.

Yes, I said universal stock. Basically, McMillan’s Z1 is inlet to fit any Remington 700 type action. You choose between long action or short action for this inlet type. On the Z1, they have chosen to go with a low top line, which eliminates the need for an ejection port or bolt release cut and I am sure that you will see this design propagate through the universal inlet product line that is soon to be filled out.

The Z1 comes in only one barrel channel diameter, which is oversized to fit most any barrel contour.

The thumb shelf on the Z1 is oversized, making it comfortable to use while providing a positive place for your thumb to rest.

As mentioned, the Z1 is designed with all of the features that are demanded in a competition-style stock. It has a wide thumb shelf, vertical grip, a longer and wider forend, and an aggressive texturing. Of course, these aren’t it’s only noticeable features.

The Z1 feels much like a chassis with its adjustable design. It features an adjustable cheek-piece that can travel ~ 1.5″ vertically. The Pachmayr 1″ Decelerator recoil pad has ~ 2″ of adjustment thanks to a spacer system, providing a range of 13.5 – 15″ for the length of pull.

The cheekpiece features a clamp bar system that provides about 1.5″ of adjustment. Also, the recoil pad can be spaced to provide a LOP between 13.5″ to 15″.

The Z1 comes with 3 flush cup attachment points, a 6″ McMillan Picatinny Rail for attaching a bipod, Clampbar adjustable cheekpiece, spacers for adjusting LOP and installed aluminum pillars.
