New from Masterpiece Arms for 2015 is the MPA 930 DMG. The DMG is a evolution of sorts developed from the Military Armament Corporation model 10 SMG of the 1970’s. The DMG is vastly improved, much lighter, smaller, more ergonomic, and (of course) semiautomatic. The DMG is the latest and greatest offering in the Master Piece Arms lineup, and is slowly changing the way we perceive MAC style pistols.
The DMG has an all new aircraft grade aluminum lower receiver that accepts Glock magazines as well as decal grip panels. The rear of the receiver has some nice touches to improve utility. For those who want to carry a DMG, MPA has added an integral QD mount for the attachment of a single point sling. The receiver is also pre-drilled and tapped for the use of stock adapters. A pistol like this is just begging for a side folding stock or SB-15 arm brace.
The DMG is built with a 3.5 inch barrel that is threaded to 1/2×28 and ships with a large diameter thread protector. The DMG utilizes a left side-cocking handle, and has an integral 1913 rail if you would want to use a red dot optic. The iron sights on this pistol are adjustable, and in comparison to a MAC pistol, they are a vast improvement.
The gun is available in Black, Burnt Bronze, Flat Dark Earth, Gunmetal, and Tungsten Cerakote finishes and will be shipping in mid February at a retail price of $679.
We’ve got one inbound for testing, so we’ll put it through the full treatment. It looks like a great fun-gun. The jury is still out on the semiautomatic action. For carrying, I mean. Not for goofing off on the range. We’ll see, though, and I bet we’ll have fun doing it.

The barrel’s an inch short for my idea of “fun gun”, something that shoots reasonably tight groups out of the box. Put a can on those threads, accuracy might take another hit. But hey, people might like that in a firearm, I’m not God, or even Col. Cooper to tell them otherwise.
Open bolt MaCs were fun . I wish they still allowed open bolt semi .. Or at lest repeal that Hughes Amendment so we could afford a real,NFA open bolt MAC or whatever new production SMG we wanted at a more reasonable price . As far as what gun you think is the best , Whatever suits your fancy . If it fits your hand & suits your needs reliably and accurately great for you . Kinda like ice cream . Always liked and sometimes used the Ingram/Mac platforms ‘professionally’. It was hard to beat that integral wire form collapsible stock on the subguns for compact concealed shoulder holster carry. And then converted rapidly to PDW/carbine. Much ‘handier’ than the Uzi. Tricked a little, (but not overly like this one in the article) they run and shoot good with a decent amount of suppressive firepower and relatively quick mag change…
But for this one in the article I’d lose that bulky (and expensive)Sig wrist ‘brace’ for the new lightweight ‘Blade’ model ‘stabilizer’ out there now. by a company called ‘Shockwave’ (I think) made in the USA by a Vet owned company for around 45 or 50 bucks.
This gun would make a lot more sense as a carbine with a folding stock. I had one of the old semi auto versions in the 80’s, 45cal, and it fired from the open bolt. At 25 yards it was hard to hit a silhouette target due to the big heavy bolt slamming forward.
Looks cool. Doc I get what your saying. Every gun made is not made for Special Forces and Black Ops. Sometimes they are made to just have fun and enjoy. This could be used for home defense or keep in your automobile, would someone carry this, probably not. So all of you anal-retentive weekend warriors running around in the woods and desert lighten up!

Give me a good old fashioned stamped steel UZI any day. Glock? There’s only two good words about Glock: Tori Tanaka.
Uzis were Okay. But there’s a couple things i don’t like about them. But the best sub i ever used ‘professionally’ was something called a CZ26. This was actually the one Uzi and most others ‘knocked off’ from. Had the grip magazine well and a side swing folding stock. It Fired the very good 7.62×25 Tokarov round with just the right tactical rate of fire and a good capacity mag. Little bit heavy so it wouldn’t really be a ‘machine pistol’ but would be more in a carbine sub gun category but well balanced and compact enough for good CQB work, yet will hold its own against heavier rifles out to a couple hundred meters, tricked with better sights. But best of all was the trigger. No select switch just a well designed convenient trigger guard safety. To go from semi to Full Rock, you just pulled back further on the trigger! Once you got used to it, nothing beats it. Could never figure why that feature didn’t perpetuate itself in other models? Or why some present day manufacturer didn’t do an upgraded lighter version for modern applications.

I’m with you Doc. I like Glocks, have a bunch of them, and they are great pistols but not the end-all/be-all of handguns. And you know not long ago many if not most shooters were slamming the Glock like every different thing nowadays gets slammed. Same thing happened with the Wonder Nines in the 80’s and people were probably doing it when the Army replaced their revolvers with 1911’s. Glock mags are common and reliable and it’s a good idea to adapt any gun to take them, Kriss, 9mm and 40 cal AR, Keltec…
PS- I like MAC’s and UZI’s too, that’s why I own a pre-86 transferable version of each. The MAC is just the receiver, with literally everything else replaced by Lage or other reputable companies.
The draw here is FULL-AUTO, with the ability to use a real shoulder stock for accuracy (ACE or Lage folder). The semi-versions of these guns are missing the entire point and are just weak sauce. If I could only have semi, I would stick with a pistol and save my cash for more ammo and/or real rifles.

Really!?! No comment as to caliber? THe stated 1/2×28 muzzle thread implies a smaller caliber in general but as industry standards go, specifically smaller than 9mm. Wouldn’t want to spin on a “can” with limited forward opening!
The mag release is partially shrouded and on the worst possible portion of its radius to boot.
Needs a fully or at least partially folding charging handle.
Front sight appears to be very snap-prone. I suspect in insufficiently protected M-16 post there.
I suspect the market is those expecting to tune it up like the original MACs…

For that price why not buy a Glock 17, 19, 34 or 26 and a threaded barrel. This gun would be a viable product at $300 I just don’t see the point.

Looks interesting. Nice that it takes glock mags. Only reason I would have to get one is silenced SBR. Other than that be better to just get a glock.
