MasterPiece Arms, or MPA, well-known for the precision rifles and handguns, not to mention Defender series, is pleased to announce their newest handgun for competition, the DS40 TT Comp Pistol. Designed expressly for MPA Pro Shooter Travis Tomasie, the DS40 TT was built to excel in Major Power Factor scoring competitions.

Chambered for .40 Smith & Wesson, the DS40 TT makes Major Power Factor for both United States Practical Shooting Association, or USPSA and the International Practical Shooting Confederation, or IPSC.

“We were excited to work with Travis to create this competition-ready pistol,” commented Phil Cashin, owner and president of MPA. “Travis’ years of experience and knowledge in the competitive shooting marketplace helped us hone in on what features matter most when it comes to competition. We’ve created something really special here that we think any competitor in USPSA or IPSC will find value in.”

“I’m proud to have partnered with MPA in developing a truly remarkable competition pistol. Built to my specifications and combining superior components with precision craftsmanship, the DS40 TT Comp Pistol is ready to race right out of the box,” Tomasie said.

Tomasie is a multiple-world and national IPSC and USPSA champion and Army Veteran, where he shot with the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit.

The DS40 TT is a full-size, double-stack 1911-based pistol with a 5-inch barrel, lightened slide and full-length steel Lightrail frame with an extended accessory rail. The frame is a two-piece assembly with a steel top half and a machined aluminum grip.

The grip has a deep undercut and aggressive texturing for improved control when shooting. It has ambidextrous safety levers, a long, skeletonized trigger, skeletonized hammer and extended grip safety with a memory button. The DS40 TT comes with fully adjustable Bomar-style rear target sights and a fiber optic front sight.

On the inside, the pistol features a Koenig hammer, sear and disconnector, tuned with Wolff Springs for a 2.5-pound factory pull. MPA says when the trigger is fully broken in, the pull weight will settle in right a 2 pounds.

Rounding things out is a massive mag funnel for fast, easy reloads. All of the parts on the DS40 TT are machined in the USA from barstock and billet, and include no MIM, castings or forgings, from the MPA-made 416R stainless bull barrel, stainless steel beavertail grip safety, stainless steel ambidextrous safety, stainless steel slide stop, firing pin stop, ejector and grip assembly.

At $2,999, the DS40 isn’t inexpensive, but it is competitive with other semi-custom match pistols. For more information about the DS40 TT, or your own custom pistol, head over to MPA online.

Wow Steven. That is terrible customer service you have experienced. I had to wait a few weeks to get my Palmetto State Armory parts that I ordered recently but I got great customer service compared to what you got.

They’re so busy, they’re forgetting about their paying customers. They’ll take the order and your money, while telling you the part is on backorder, but should be available in 6-8 weeks. It’s now been over 18 weeks and they don’t return phone calls or e-mails! COVID makes a good excuse for delays, but this is ridiculous!
