A Marine veteran in Harris County, Texas, shot a would-be home invader that was climbing through a bedroom window on Monday, local media reports.
“I knew somebody was up to no good,” Marine veteran Dan Reynolds told Click2Houston, upon hearing a rock being smashed through the bedroom window.
“He’s not robbing me. He didn’t say anything. I didn’t say anything. I shot him and he fell back out the window and ran away,” said the 31-year-old who shot the would-be burglar in the chest.
Apparently, this isn’t the first time a thief targeted his residence. About three weeks ago, someone broke into his house when he wasn’t home and snatched up, “Laptops, tablets, stereo, phones, iPods, a TV,” according to Reynolds.
But this time he was home. And Reynolds has no regrets about shooting the suspect.
“Some people protect their homes. If you come by and want to rob, people that’s what you get,” explained Reynolds. “He probably won’t come back, but if he does, we’ll handle that then.”
This Guy Had On A Vest, Or He Would Not Have Moved! Crooks Wear Vests Now, Even Tho They Are Only Legal For Police! Some People Defend With A Double Tap. 2 Shots To The Head!
Super action but…………Shot him in the chest and he ran away? Was he dressed in a tank suit?? Was the load a blank and you hit him with a wad? He should have been scattered all over the lawn. Better luck next time.
I was shot with a 12 ga.( hunting accident) in the lower back and didn’t / couldn’t get up.
The home owner must have used a .410 or some really light load. People don’t run off
after being hit in the chest with a shotgun at close range.

I HAVE NOTHING IN OR ON MU PROPERTY WORTYH YOUR LIFE! I HAVE MY PROPERTY WELL MARKED AND WILL SHOOT TO KILL. I HAVE A WIFE AND A 13 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER THAT NEVER HAVE TO WORRY IF I AM HOME.
Hey, Danial, I have a wife, an 8 and a 10 year old at home who don’t worry if I am home or not. They have all been trained, they can all shoot, and I am never worried about gun accidents in my home, because my family knows, understands, and respects guns, I believe those who have shooting accidents at home are those who have children who were not taught gun safety, trained, and simply don’t know, respect, or understand guns. Everything they learned about guns they learned from the movies. A good education takes the mystery of guns thus they have no interest in trying to get hold of one to play with it. So, go a step further and teach your wife and you 13 year old guns inside and out, the same you would teach your 13 year old how to drive or use a chain saw when he/she turns 16. Get it done.
Semper fi brother!
Semper Fi, Leatherneck!Good shootin’.
Good Shootin Marine!!
If the theif lived maybe this will teach him not to rob homes. Glad you got a measure of satisfaction out of it. I had a burglary and didn’t get the satisfaction of shooting someone over it.
