Man Turns Gun on Self After Losing Free Buffet Benefits at Las Vegas Casino

in Authors, Rapid Fire, S.H. Blannelberry, This Week

From the Las Vegas Review-Journal:

The day before he put a gun to his head and killed himself at an M Resort buffet on Easter, a Las Vegas man filled a box with his complaints against the resort and its employees and mailed it to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

In his final, angry message to the world, delivered to the newspaper Monday morning, John Noble blamed his suicide on depression that set in after the Henderson resort awarded him free meals at the buffet for life then banned him from the property in 2013 for harassing some of the women working there.

“Today, I end my life due to the M Resort Spa Casino and its employees,” the 53-year-old Noble wrote in one of two suicide notes he included with an obsessively detailed dossier on the people he blamed for destroying his life.

At about 4:50 p.m. Sunday, Noble shot himself in the resort on Las Vegas Boulevard South near St. Rose Parkway. Henderson firefighters were already at the resort’s parking garage extinguishing a burning vehicle police now say belonged to Noble.

Henderson police said Monday that unidentified items left in the vehicle prompted a response from Metro’s hazardous and explosive material response team, which deemed the vehicle safe to be towed from the scene. The garage and part of the resort remained closed until 11:15 p.m. Sunday. The Studio B Buffet was still shut down Monday, but it is slated to reopen today.

Imagine how effective a culture war would be if all pro gunners used manners, tact, and dignity when choosing the words that represent us. The comments here are disrespectful and a turn off to anyone sitting on the fence.

  • Acecool November 25, 2016, 11:40 am

And now that he’s gone he can’t “defend” himself if those claims of harassment are false.. The survivors write history so the guy will go down as being someone who harasses women and committed suicide because they stood up against him and he was caught.

If you take your own voice away, your story won’t be told.

  • Mick Dodge April 15, 2015, 7:58 am

We should all take this time to contemplate the substance that squishes between our toes as we run barefoot through the flowering meadows of winter wheat.

  • JT April 15, 2015, 2:01 am

Must have been a damn good buffet.

  • Larry Koehn April 14, 2015, 4:38 pm

This is an excellent way to start to purify earths gene pool. It is a shame that he used a gun when he could have jumped from a high place, leaped in front of a truck, or taken a nap on a railroad track but it will be added to Bloomberg’s killed with a gun list now. I have heard of lots of reasons sane people turn turtle and kill themselves like cancer or woman problems but over losing a free buffet after he harassed female employees. If he access to guns maybe the world is a safer place now that he is gone?

  • Silveressa April 14, 2015, 12:13 am

At least he only killed himself and didn’t go on a shooting spree at the resort first, still it seems a rather shallow reason to commit suicide, but I guess for him it was as good an excuse as any?

  • B. Henry April 13, 2015, 10:27 pm

    Pathetic!

  • Irish American April 13, 2015, 6:21 pm

Thanks Skip for putting this back on the rails.
I’m glad he skipped the whole columbine thing and just cut to the chase. That’s always been my suggestion and it seems finally one of them did it. At least he had some decency left, in spite of his illness.

  • skip barker April 13, 2015, 12:55 pm

Nobody ever died before their time, and apparently this is how it was to be for this individual, While I wish he had not gone this way, as it leads to problems for society, it was his time his day his way. Now the true believers and the patriots will have to clean up his mess and fight the weak for his using the gun. If he killed himself in some other manner would we even be hearing about it?

  • Steven April 13, 2015, 11:59 am

I think this might be more of a mental health issue than a political one. Apparently this individual has some problems.

  • 2012F150 April 13, 2015, 11:10 am

Sometimes the comments here are a little unnerving and this is one of those times. This man was suffering from some serious mental health issues (nobody makes a rational decision to commit suicide over something this trivial without some serious mental anguish) and the first comment is from a good ole’ bible thumping mouth breather. Here here! good sir, you win the internets today for a wholly irrational response that runs right off the rails in the first sentence. Bravo! It’s always the heathen democrats, despite CCW carriers being overwhelmingly of the republican persuasion. Keep up the culture war, your handlers would be proud!

    • greg September 15, 2017, 8:26 am

How truly sweet…”bible thumping mouth breather” and then a snarky comments about a “culture war” and republicans being CCW carriers? Say what does that have to do with a man kicked out due to harassment of women? Poor little boy,

  • gym April 13, 2015, 10:26 am

Could he transfer that pass to me?

  • Tom April 13, 2015, 10:23 am

    Darwinism at work!

    • Truth Hurts April 13, 2015, 11:37 am

No, no. This is suicide. Understand the terms you use before showing your ignorance.

  • Dan April 13, 2015, 9:42 am

Seriously Alvin? I thought this guy sounded crazy… until I read your post!

“This is the type of people that fall perfectly in line with the Democrat philosophy, no God, no self worth, only exist to serve themselves with no thought of the eternal afterlife. Sad, very sad”

What is sad is that you (presumably) had at least some exposure to public education (perhaps that’s the problem) and are able to read and form sentences, but still believe that there is really a difference between Democrats and Republicans! Both parties have been screwing you, I, and everyone else (other than the wealthy special interest groups who support their corrupt a$$es) in this country! Just because most Republicans pander to those of us who love firearms, don’t think they wouldn’t sell us down the river at their first opportunity if they thought it was in their (or their wealthy supporters) best interests!

Feel sorry for this man’s tragic suffering, but don’t expect God to appreciate your pitiful attempt at making yourself feel superior to him because you have not had as unfortunate of a life!

    • Buck O'Fama April 13, 2015, 10:01 am

“Mommy didn’t love me. Daddy didn’t love me. I was bullied. I’m 53 and a pansy and can’t take responsibility for myself and need someone to blame. I live only to stuff my face at endless buffets and think nothing of setting my own car on fire and endangering others. I have nothing to contribute to society and think I’m making a statement by writing letters and offing myself.”

Without apology, no heartstrings being tugged here. Too many people in the world with real problems. Too many starving children. Too many people who just need water. I can’t and won’t have one iota of sympathy for this asshole. And no, I don’t care how depressed he was over losing his lifetime buffet privileges. Good riddance.

      • Damon April 13, 2015, 5:36 pm

You’re both spot-on. I fully support the right of anyone to end the life they are dissatisfied with, but I would prefer they do it somewhere more socially acceptable – like the landfill. If your life is such garbage that you can just throw it away, why force someone else to clean it up? City of Las Vegas should charge his estate with “aggravated littering”.

        • Chris Baker April 14, 2015, 9:12 am

You’ve got it right. His life is/was his own. His estate should have to pay for the cleanup and for the trauma the unwilling witnesses to his callousness inflicted on them.

      • Ramon Avila April 14, 2015, 9:39 am

Hey Dan, well put. I totally agree.

      • Tony P. April 15, 2015, 3:34 pm

Finally, someone with some common sense! Our nation has become a society of men who are just too soft to be women, and women who are just too hard to be men. In one sense it maybe very true that this fool needed God, but I’ve known Christians who have killed themselves as well. Granted, one was for cowardice of facing criminal charges for what he had done, and the other was in due to his wife running-off with another man, and another was for the sheer depression of an empty life. But I never heard of someone committing suicide over a buffet! Besides they did it in private. The only reason why this man’s suicide is getting any attention is because he did it with a gun. If he had swallowed a bottle of pills, and stood in the lobby until he collapsed, we would’ve never heard about it. Thank you Mr. Noble for giving Obama, & Bloomberg more fuel for their fires!

  • Derp April 13, 2015, 8:42 am

Exactly what does this have to do with Gunsamerica?

    • Steve L April 13, 2015, 9:43 am

Maybe it’s to bring awareness of the millions of food stamp (the fraudulent ones) recipient’s will have no other choice when the hardworking tax payers of this country run out of money to feed them!

    • Jose Acosta April 13, 2015, 3:13 pm

      +1

  • Martin Bury April 13, 2015, 7:17 am

He should’ve called a psychiatrist, not an attorney….

  • Alvin Glenn Hagler April 13, 2015, 6:40 am

This is an excellent example of the shallow existence of a person with no God in their life. Who would kill themselves because a hotel barred them from the property. This is the type of people that fall perfectly in line with the Democrat philosophy, no God, no self worth, only exist to serve themselves with no thought of the eternal afterlife. Sad, very sad.

    • herbert foster April 13, 2015, 7:12 am

making supper at home for his wife must have been a little dicey Ya Think?! WOW!

    • chuck benak April 13, 2015, 8:51 am

No this is an example of bullying which goes on far too much today. It sounds like he was bullied all his life and this led to the meltdown. I can’t imagine what that must be like, god rest his soul.

    • Truth Hurts April 13, 2015, 11:46 am

      >>This is an excellent example of the shallow existence of a person with no God in their life.
And your post is an excellent example of how religions makes one ignorant and possess an undeserved sense of self-superiority. Of which god do you speak? All of the thousands of deities and religions are man-made. Interesting that you’ve completely disproved all others, but the one(s) you worship with absolutely no proof of their existence. And yet you use your delusion to exalt yourself and your religitarded peers by presuming none of you would make the same mistake as this poor individual. Your religion (presuming kkkristianity here) embraces/teaches ignorance, the denial of reality, and as you show division amongst the masses. It’s so easy for you to lump everything you don’t agree with under a convenient label; democrat, liberal, etc. so that you don’t have to move beyond the shallow and myopic view you have of the world. All the while, the deluded masses in America use their religiously inspired hate to oppress others and attempt to deny them the same civil rights. The horse upon which you sit is not so high. What’s so very sad is your continued embrace of the absurd.

      • Dewey April 13, 2015, 10:54 pm

Very well said, but sadly, your words are mostly wasted on the average “Murican tacticool gun owner”.

      • G.F. Clark April 15, 2015, 5:21 pm

There are innumerable ‘proofs’ for the existence of the Judeo/Christian God for anyone with an open, fair objective mind to discover if they are willing. Sadly, far too many are to narrow, selfish, and self absorbed to honestly and objectively examine the evidence. They’d rather do their own thing. Which is of course, what they want in the first place

Pardon me, but your slip is showing…

    • steve April 13, 2015, 11:41 pm

if your belief in god has any effect on your morality, then you are in no position to criticize other people. doing something because you want to get into heaven, or not doing something because you don’t want to go to hell, is not morality. it is selfishness. not to mention, your god says we ALL deserve to go to hell to be horrifically tortured and burned alive for all eternity, and that he only provides exceptions for people who are gullible enough to believe the bible. your god doesn’t take into account whether or not one is a good or bad person. he only cares about which god they happen to believe in. which is even more despicable when you realize that an all knowing being would certainly be aware that literally over 99.9% of people in this world believe in the god that they do because it was the god of their parents. not to mention the morality of the bible is even worse than that of the quran. your god committed, and commanded his people to commit genocide, INFANTICIDE, ordered them to take the virgin female children of the canaanites as their own personal sex slaves(or at best concubines) after they brutally killed their fathers, mothers, and brothers, condoned and outlined slavery, ordered the killing of anyone who commits a homosexual act, worships a different god, is of a different religion, commits adultery, blasphemy, isn’t a virgin on their wedding night, and even anyone who works, or even just PICKS UP STICKS on the wrong day of the week. if you get your morality from such a being, or the book he wrote, or are concerned about what he thinks, you are in no position to lecture anyone on morality. just saying.
people with no believe in god, or an afterlife, have all the more reason to make this this one life that they know they are guaranteed as good as it can be, and to make the earth, and society as good as they can be.

      • Chris Baker April 14, 2015, 9:09 am

Actually, if you read Revelations it doesn’t say that unrepentant sinners will burn forever. I don’t know why preachers make this statement, nor why anyone would. It says that all the sinners and Satan and his followers will be cast into the lake of eternal fire and that is the second death. Dead is dead, not alive burning. John 3-16 “whosoever believes in me shall not perish but have everlasting life.” So believe and live, don’t believe and don’t live. Strange that they should think sinners would burn forever. I’ve asked my preacher and he doesn’t have any explanation except to say that it’s figurative. I don’t buy that. I’m a Christian and I believe in God the one God above all other creations. He is the creator. He tells us to love one another not to hate. Do good because it is good to do. Works don’t get you into heaven. You have to truly be repentant of your sins and ask his forgiveness. The “Trinity”, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, is simply a product of our limited 3 dimensional viewpoint. Different aspects of the same God. There are to many witnesses of the factual history of Jesus of Nazareth to allow anyone credible to say he didn’t exist or was simply a prophet or cult leader. Many of them not Christians and they still support the veracity of the bible.

I can understand why he won but to say it is the hotel that made this happen.
But they did not one thing to this person. He pick out the way most people would not even thought of.
