After a lot of anticipation, Magpul is releasing their Pro 700 chassis. Built for Remington 700 barreled receivers, the Pro 700 comes packed with features. The stock is in production and shipping now.
“We spent four years developing it, evolving it, and improving every aspect of its features and design … and we went through a lot of prototypes and testing in the process,” said Magpul director Scott Creed. “We’re ready to release it (and its accessories) in some limited quantities and configurations, with full production really just beginning this week.”
“That being said, we’re releasing most of our inventory we’ve built up to stores now and offering a limited number for sale on our website,” he added. Magpul is offering the stock in black, flat dark earth and olive drab.

Built for hunting, sport and tactical shooting, the Pro 700 is fully-adjustable, completely ambidextrous and deeply-featured. The heart of the chassis is a solid 6061-T6 alloy billet frame overmolded with Magpul polymer.
It’s completely modular with a reversible folding stock, adjustable pistol grip and optional night vision mount. The stock is adjustable for length, cant and cheek height. The stock, V-bedding block and cheek riser are reversible for left-handed actions. Magpul also offers a fixed stock adapter for a slightly lighter, cleaner profile.

The buttpad has five degrees of cant and users can adjust it more than two inches up and down. The length of pull is adjustable from 13.25 inches to just over 15 inches. The cheekpiece can be adjusted back and forth .75 inches and has up to an inch in rise.
It’s a chassis that really can “adjust” to fit about any shooter. It comes with two pistol grips, a compact vertical grip and a larger, traditional grip with an enlarged palmswell.
The chassis has an AICS-pattern magwell that of course works with Magpul PMAG AC magazines in addition to other AICS-pattern mags. At the front of the trigger guard is an ambidextrous magazine release.
Naturally the forend sports a full spread of Magpul M-Lok slots for other accessories. It has six slots on each side and seven more on the bottom for a wide range of sling and bipod mounting configurations.

There’s other good news from Magpul in the works. “We’re also just days from releasing the Magpul Bipod with its three attachment options,” added Creed. “After that will be the long-awaited release of the Hunter American Stock.”
The Hunter American stock is Magpul’s chassis system for the Ruger American short-action rifle. Magpul is also working hard on bringing a 700-pattern long action chassis to the market. If you’re a Magpul fan, this will be one busy August.
I bought an Ruger Precision Rifle in short action and it cost me $899.00 brand new! And it has all of the features of the mag pull except it comes with wait for it… the barreled action! It shot sub moa out of the box. For the same price you can buy krg stock, cadex or even an AI, so why bother.
No dis to Magpul but if I’m going to spend that much on a stock, I’ll get an Accuracy International.
