Making an appearance at the SHOT Show Range Day 2023, Laugo Arms brought out a prototype of their 9mm, limited edition Alien Creator pistol.

Including all of the revolutionary perks of the Alien lineup which debuted in 2020, the Creator steps it up by featuring larger front slide serrations, a larger flared magwell, a 1911 grip angle, and a different beavertail cut.

The Alien in and of itself is a work of art that seems hard to improve upon. Maintaining a bore axis that is 1.7mm under the shooter’s grip, the pistol has hardly any muzzle rise.

The trigger is fantastic, and the delayed blowback system increases controllability. To help with accuracy, the barrel is permanently fixed to the frame to provide a sort of free-floated system. This also decreases moving parts and mass to keep the pistol flat when firing.

Another huge advantage is that the optic doesn’t move when firing. The only part of the slide that moves are its sides, keeping the top stationary and the optic still.

The reciprocating parts of the slide are locked to the rear with the optic remaining stationary.

Unique to the Alien Creator is the frame. While the 1911 grip angle is a preference, many shooters seem to prefer it.

Another unique feature is the way Laugo Arms found a way to attach all the grip panels and magwell with a single screw. This keeps things simple, and the grip looking clean. The Creator edition also features a larger flared magwell which feeds great.

Laugo Arms anticipates only making around 500 of the Alien Creator variants. They will be available for sale sometime in the middle of 2023. They also didn’t have an MSRP nailed down but said it would run just a little over what the traditional Aliens are selling for which is around $6,000 here at GunsAmerica.

It will feature an American flag as a tribute to the U.S. market. That also helps to set it apart as one of the few sold in this limited edition release.

I agree with other commenters. Price early on and I would have found something better to do. Yeah, it looks kinda cool. I could almost get a Barrett with that kind of money.

Yes…and I am THANKFUL Rich guys will buy it. EVENTUALLY, the rest of us might have the option of an ultra low bore axis, delayed blow back fixed barrel 9mm with a fixed optic that shoots and handles like a .22 target pistol.

If this article would have been inverse…with the price first before the text, it would have saved me approximately 4 minutes. “Laugo Arms anticipates only making around 500 of the Alien Creator variants.” Scary to think that there are 500 people on planet Earth stupid enough to fall for this! Coat it in rose gold, have Lena Miculek endorse it as “Meet Rose” and you would have the dumbest campaign on the Earth… Oh wait, that is a separate Gunsamerica article đŸ¥±

So all though this is a fairly interesting pistol, why on earth would they not put back up iron sights on this thing? You might as well throw it at someone if your batteries go dead. Also for 6 grand+ For only rich collectors are going to give it a look. For that price you can buy multiple quality pistols. It’s cool but not that cool.
