Kimber is expanding its highly stylized line of Rapide pistols with new Rapide Dawn and Rapide Scorpius full-size 1911s and Micro 9 compacts chambered for 9mm Luger. They’re also adding new Micro 9 Rapide pistols and new Micro 9s with optics installed and mini-compensator configurations.
The Rapide Dawn patterns feature stainless steel slides and frames with a KimPro II Silver finish and brushed flats and come with gold titanium nitride barrels. The Rapide Scorpius models have a KimPro II Black finish with polished flat and a black diamond-like finish on the barrels.
Both new Rapide pistols come with a lot of detailed slide work including lightning cuts and machined G10 grips styled to match. They also have Kimber’s Stiplex-pattern serrating on the frames for even more grip.
They both feature extended grip safeties with textured memory pads, ambidextrous manual thumb safeties, and skeletonized hammers and triggers. They have standard frames without railed dust covers and G.I.-style recoil assemblies.
Chambered for 9mm Luger, the new Rapides have a 9+1-round capacity and come from the factory with TruGlo TFX Pro day and night sights with orange ring front sights. They have an unloaded weight of 40 ounces.
Like the full-size new Rapide pistols, the new Micro 9 subcompacts are also chambered for 9mm. The Micro 9 Rapide Dawn and Rapide Scorpius come with the same stylized appearances including the lightened slides, color patterns, and TruGlo TFX Pro night sights.
The new optics-installed Micro 9s are cut for mini red dot sights and are bundled with Swampfox Sentinel Optic 3.0 MOA red dot optics. Kimber’s offering two different bundles, one that’s all black and the other two-tone with a silver finish and black grips and highlights.

The mini compensator models have slightly extended, threaded barrels with compact 3-port compensators. Like the optics installed, Kimber is offering these in two patterns, a two-tone version and an ESV model with enhanced slide serrations and slide lightening cuts.
All of the new Micro 9 pistols have a 6+1-round capacity or 7+1 with extended magazines and ship with TruGlo Tritium Pro night sights. The flush mags have slight finger extensions for just a little more grip.
Prices for the new Micro 9s range from $889 to $985 depending on the model, and the full-size Rapide Dawn and Rapide Scorpius have an MSRP of $1,729. For more information head over to Kimber online.
