in Handguns, Jeff Cramblit

The R7 Mako is Kimber’s 2021 offering into the micro compact arena, and it shoots really well. The Mako comes in two options, Optics Ready (OR) or Optics Installed (OI). The optics installed model comes from the factory with a Crimson Trace 1500 red dot sight.

R7 Mako comes with or without an optic from the factory.

The Mako has an aggressive stippling on the grip that does a great job of securing your grip to aid in controlling the micro 9mm. The R7 comes with an 11 round flush magazine and a 13 round extended magazine that gives the shooter a little more to hang on to when firing.

Tru Glo night sights are mounted on the Mako and co-witness with the installed CT 1500 red dot. The Mako’s has the full complement of features, Ambi controls, front and rear cocking serrations, and a trigger weight of 5-6.75 pounds.
