The Kimber 2K11 Comp pistols pair a ported bull barrel, carbon-fiber grip module, and optics-ready slide to deliver flatter shooting in a 2011-style platform.

First Shots at SHOT Show 2026 Range Day

We got hands-on with the new Kimber 2K11 Comp lineup during SHOT Show 2026 Industry Day at the Range. Kimber builds these pistols off the standard 2K11, then adds a compensator and competition-focused features.

The Kimber 2k11 Comp (shown in black) is a 5″ compensated double-stack 1911 pistol that keeps recoil light. The large port on the muzzle end is located in front of the fiber optic front sight.

The standout change is the forward barrel port. Kimber machines a large compensator port at the muzzle to vent gas upward. That design keeps the gun flatter during fast strings. On the range, recoil stayed controlled and predictable.

Both pistols use a fluted, ramped bull barrel with no bushing. The slide features aggressive front and rear serrations. Kimber hand-fits the slide to the frame at the factory. You can feel it when the gun cycles.

A carbon fiber–infused polymer grip module anchors the lower half. The grip texture feels aggressive without being sharp. Black models ship with a magwell, while stainless versions skip it.

Every model runs a flat-face aluminum trigger with a 3–4 pound pull. The hammer is skeletonized. The pistols ship optics ready with a TAG Precision RMR adapter plate. Steel sights with fiber-optic fronts come standard.

2K11 Pro Comp: Shorter Slide, Fast Handling

The 2K11 Pro Comp uses a 4.25-inch barrel and a shorter slide. It keeps a full-size grip frame. That balance favors shooters who want speed without extra length.

Where the 2K11 Comp Line Fits

The 2K11 Comp and 2K11 Pro Comp sit squarely between duty guns and full race pistols. They shoot flat, come ready for optics, and keep familiar 2011 ergonomics. Kimber clearly aimed these at shooters who want performance, jumping straight into open-class territory.
