Kahles has been making riflescopes for more than 120 years. They are a premium manufacturer in Austria but their new K18i is targeted at competitive shooters around the world. True Pearce actually uses the previous version of this Kahles optic on a 3 Gun rifle and has been very pleased with it. True shares a closer look at this optic during SHOT Show 2020.
One thing that Kahles (caw-less) has always strived for in their riflescopes is a wide field of view, and this one’s FOV is a little wider than the K16i. A problem many shooters have is finding the target once they are looking through the scope. A wide field of view makes it much easier to acquire the target faster. This K18i shows an image 127 feet wide at the 1x magnification at 100 meters. Compare that with some other scope manufacturers who show between 90 and 116 feet at 1x.
New features included swappable throw levers (long and short) and a new enhanced brightness setting for bright daylight shooting.
The reticle has dual illuminated dots, one for your zero and one for a 300- to 400-yard holdover.
These scopes are made tough. Kahles intends competitors to use them hard in competition. They’re made well, and they include a 10-year warranty. The K18i will be available in April 2020, and the MSRP is $2,800.
