Vice President Joe Biden Gives More Gun Ownership Advice

in Authors, Rapid Fire, S.H. Blannelberry, SHOT Show 2016, This Week

Vice president Joe Biden, who is not known for giving sound gun ownership advice, sounded off again on how one ought to exercise one’s right to keep and bear arms.

In a video published last month by “Now This,” Biden argued that one should purchase a smart gun.

“Only you are able to pull that trigger, anyone else can pick the same weapon or gun up, and they cannot pull the trigger,” said Biden. “It will not function.”

It appears Biden believes that the purchase of smart guns is the quickest way to a safer America without infringing on the Second Amendment.

“None of those kids would be [accidentally] killed, if there were smart weapons,” said Biden.

There is no doubt that smart guns have an appeal to a wide range of prospective and current gun owners. That said, the fact that Biden, who has a history of supporting gun bans, is the one making the sales pitch for smart guns rubs this viewer the wrong way.

I mean, why does Biden think he’s in a position to tell me what’s best for my household or my personal defense needs?  He wants to restrict my 2A rights and limit my options for self-defense.  Why would I ever take advice from him, someone who believes that AR-15s are hard to aim and inferior to other firearms?

Just as his comments about home defense — “ifire two blasts outside the house” with a double-barreled shotgun if there’re any problems — were out-of-touch and unwelcomed, so are his thoughts on smart guns.

It’s not the government’s job to tell the people how they ought to arm themselves.  So, sorry, uncle Joe.  I’ll purchase the weapons that I need, not the ones that have your stamp of approval.

No worries Joe Biden even if you purchased a “Smart gun” it wouldn’t work because your DUMB!!

  • boutefeu February 3, 2017, 11:53 am

No person of sound mind would take advice of any kind from this dimwit.

  • Frank Romo December 23, 2016, 3:34 am

Uncle Joe is off the porch again, better reel him back to the basement. Every time he opens his mouth turds fall out, it’s time to go back to your room Uncle Joe, the show’s over, nothing to see here…

“… easier for a (child) to get to a gun than it is to open a bottle of Tylenol”?!?! Not true in the majority of responsible gun-owners’ homes, Uncle Joe. It’s appalling when such public figures spout out some sound bite and it becomes the narrative that the listening public is supposed to treat as “facts”. President O is guilty of the same sort of thing, saying (paraphrasing) “It’s easier to get a gun than it is to get a book”. Also not true! I can download a book on my smart device in a matter of seconds – can you get a gun that quickly? It takes several days (especially in CA) to actually get your hands on a firearm. C’mon now… let’s exercise a little more common sense and a lot more diligence when it comes to addressing the general public with such comments. As for smart guns – I’m sure they have their flaws (like the battery life issue), as well. Law-abiding gun-owners are, for the most part, responsible upstanding members of this country. Why does America insist on treating them like criminals. Treat CRIMINALS like criminals, not me or the gun-owning community that I have come to respect.

I get it, we all want to reduce the number of accidental deaths by guns – that’s a no-brainier. But the way you go about doing so is not by mandating some piece of new (and therefore untested in the long term) technology to gun owners. Present the facts, educate the public, and take responsibility for your actions.

How about smart bullets? or smart magazines? I don’t know how they would actually work to prevent ADs, but just because you put the word “Smart” in front of it, and hook it up to some sort of tech, doesn’t make it the best idea. Things, in my opinion, can only be as smart as the user, ultimately. I guess that’s why there’s no such thing as a “Smart” VP. *zing!*

  • H critter August 26, 2016, 9:03 am

If they can hack phones don’t you think bad guys would hack a smart gun? You Idiot. Go back to your magic hat and try to come up with something “smarter” than that.

  • phil morris June 20, 2016, 8:01 am

somebody should tell “shotgun joe” to stop talking about something he obviously knows NOTHING about! what a dumbass.

  • Joe Lentz April 21, 2016, 5:52 pm

I like the saying HEY DUMB ASS IT’S LACK OF PARENTING NOT GUNS I got my first gun at 12. My son got his first gun at 12. We had an in home day care guns were in the house parents were ok with it Proper training and proper respect taught everything would be fine. My sons first rabbit hunt was with an empty gun. He had to show me he could handle a weapon safely with respect to the weapon GUNS FOR EVERYONE THEY CAN HAVE MY GUNS BULLETS FIRST Stay safe

  • I'm sorry I voted for "BO" February 25, 2016, 1:30 pm

It’s hard to imagine a sitting VP can be such an “Idiot”!
Imagine the Navy Seals coming to shoreline in water territory of an enemies and equipped with Joe “Idiot” Biden smart guns!
Imagine while you in a gun fight and your hand sweat!
Imagine the adrenaline up to drawing your smart gun with your hand sweating!
Imagine while you’re in the shower and an intruder breaking in your house!
Imagine while the police do a traffic stop while in the rain!
Imagine your special “Joe The Idiot” smart gun while it rains like hell, or just in a wet condition!
    Just imagine all that, Joe!

    • Just imagine all that, Joe! February 25, 2016, 2:01 pm

      “Just imagine all that, Joe!”
No Wait! Just imagine all that “Middle” finger’s prints to you Joe!

  • Justin February 23, 2016, 2:51 pm

C’mon Joe! Let’s be realistic here, when was the last time that you shoot a handgun? or have you ever shoot a handgun?
How about this? Make all “Police, Secret Service, ATF, FBI, Sheriff, U.S. Marshall, CIA, and I mean ALL ‘LEO’ ” in this great U. S. of A carry this so-called “Smart Gun” permanently and mandatory by an Act of Congress!
Only then, you can come back and pitch it to us again.
Don’t yep your craps to us just because you can!

Joe, not everybody has been given millions of dollars in bribery, I mean lobby money for supporting socialist agendas to buy the technology in the already expensive guns.

Biden is so smart, give his security detail these “smart guns” and let’s see how safe he feels.

    • Justin February 23, 2016, 2:25 pm

“Thousand Likes” for this comment (Biden is so smart, give his security detail these “smart guns” and let’s see how safe he feels.)
Yeah! also give them “smart guns” to obama secret services too, to see if they even want to touch them, I bet barack that they will voluntarily quit their position in protecting him and his family in droves!
Just because they’re in the white house at the moment and they think they know what’s best for all. Go figure!

  • Marine Air February 13, 2016, 12:09 am

Joe Biden will be leaving his position soon. We have a lot to be thankful for!

  • Andrew N. February 12, 2016, 11:20 pm

Well Joe, there aren’t any smart guns that really work in production. That kind of prevents me owning one. Also, leaving my life in the hands of a battery makes me a little nervous too. The 2,4,6, and 8 year olds that are firing Dad’s gun have an idiot for a father. He also probably leaves the lid off the Tylenol for his easy access. Thank you for your kind words that so-called “Background Checks” don’t do anything to prevent the mass shootings that everyone is wringing their hands over. The Background Check, and all the other new gun laws they are trying to pass will have that same effect on crime and mass shootings. ZERO. Until we fix the mental health issues in this country, and make those records available as part of a background check, and the Press keeps making these assbags into counter culture heroes, the shootings will continue.

  • DaveGinOly February 12, 2016, 10:53 pm

Does Uncle Joe think car engines should shut off if the driver gets out of his seat? People are run over by their own cars and killed too. Most people would want to forego the inconvenience of such a “safety feature,” considering how unlikely a person is to be run over by their own car and how a little common sense can mitigate the threat nearly entirely. Considering how few people are shot with their own guns, why would “smart guns” be a good idea, but a car that turns off if the driver unasses his seat not be a good idea?

  • Alan February 12, 2016, 10:27 pm

Gun Safety starts at home, Mr. Biden. Kids should be taught not to handle any gun, unless they are doing so with the supervision of the parent. When I was a child I was not allowed in my parent’s bedroom and for good reason. But as you know in this liberal day and age many parents allow children to do many things, we as kids would have never been allowed to do. Firearms are not the problem Mr. Biden, but a lack of discipline, a lack of education and an ever increasing mental health problem are at the basis of what you blame on guns.

Mr. Biden, do you know that prescription drugs kill more people than autos or firearms? Where is your concern for those issues?

  • Dr. Jim L. Davis February 12, 2016, 8:48 pm

The whole idea of a “smart gun” is at best just another example of the limited menatal ability of liberals. Biden’s logic is a good example of this. I have had guns in my house loaded in nearly every room, raised three kids with no “accidents”. Why? Because they were raise from childhood about guns so there was no mystery of “mystique” about them. My son could disassemble, clean and reassemble our 1911A1 pistol from the age of seven. Indeed, I have found that younger boys seem to have more interest in the hunting knife than the gun.

  • K February 12, 2016, 6:33 pm

When “Smart Guns” are as safe and reliable as our current firearms, then I’ll buy one. Until then, I’ll keep my tools locked up and secure outside of my bedside roscoe who lives in a secure bedside drawer when I’m not using it.
Not a bad idea, Joe; and maybe someday it’ll be viable. Currently, it isn’t.

  • mark February 12, 2016, 6:30 pm

So do you take these things to a gunsmith or to the GeekSquad at Best Buy when they break down?

  • djs0588 February 12, 2016, 6:23 pm

I wonder what the standing will be in regards to liability if the firearm fails, and the owners life is lost.
I would be willing to wager, that even though the Feds are mandating the use of these weapons, the same Feds, including biden and his compatriots, will be nowhere to be found when the matter goes to court.

  • Ed Elder February 12, 2016, 3:54 pm

  • osmer1 February 12, 2016, 2:56 pm

The police must have to use these guns and no others for two years. Then let the public buy them. Only then.

  • Jeremiah February 12, 2016, 2:40 pm

Unca Joe, sadly, just does not have a firm grip on the Second Amendment, nor the things that can go wrong in defending one’s life and property.

Out of a million life and death scenarios, I’ll just use one example, Unca Joe:

…say you are in a gun fight that started out as a home invasion with three armed burglars. You grab your “thumb-activated” firearm, and you begin to defend your home, your wife and yourself against these three armed thugs.

Suddenly, you get shot in the hand, the arm or the elbow on the arm holds your weapon, rendering your hand useless. the same hand you used to “thumbprint-activate” your weapon, So now your hand is useless. In a last ditch effort to defend your wife and yourself, a last act of life-and-death desperation, you toss your weapon to your wife… who doesn’t have the same thumbprint as you…. who aims and pulls the trigger again and again… and nothing happens…. the thugs, who had been cowering in fear and retreating, grin ear to ear… you’re both dead.

Thanks for the safety lesson Unca Joe,.. but no thanks!

    • 2B or not 2B 2A February 13, 2016, 6:20 am

Right and to boot, the thugs won’t be using these “safer guns” and you and your family are lost. Let’s not forget that guns will be “hackable”. I just recieved a “safer to use” credit card with the new chip in it. Disclaimer: these cards are not protected from unforseen hackers (in laymans terms). Take that to the bank. I’de rather have a stove pipe malfunction, feed malfunction, etc at least I can clear the malfunction. If the thumb print, bracelet or ring on the Smart Gun fails, who fixes this in your time of defending Life, Liberty and the Persuit of Happiness??

  • Tom February 12, 2016, 2:23 pm

From the double barrel VP. He might have to run for president.

    • 2B or not 2B 2A February 13, 2016, 6:23 am

If I remember correctly, Uncle Joe said to “blast both shots through the front door if your not sure who it is, done.” Ooops sorry Aunt Margie I didn’t know it was you at my front door, but…… but…… The VP of the USA told me to do it. Let’s see if that stands up in court, friend or foe.

  • Joseph M.Mattero Jr. February 12, 2016, 1:47 pm

Again, another useless comment coming from someone that doesn’t practice, protect or preserve the Second Amendment!
“He was sworn in too, but chooses not too”………
P.S. My whole family enjoys the sport, how can one pass on to a family member to enjoy at the time of recreation if it is limited to one individual?

    • 2B or not 2B 2A February 13, 2016, 6:26 am

I’m sure you can get it “reprogramed”. At a cost of course. Let’s let Mr VP equip his security detail with these “smart guns” first. Then he can let us know how safe he feels.

  • flyR February 12, 2016, 12:07 pm

Biden’s known for his party loyalty, mouth not operated by a high IQ brain and now his drooling anticipation that he might be drafted as either the democrat’s lead or put on the ticket to backstop hillary or an unknown candidate like Va governor McAuliffe.

Smart guns are the perfect solution for dumb people.

    • Joseph M.Mattero Jr. February 12, 2016, 1:56 pm

      You stated it perfectly!!!!
“Smart Guns are for STUIPD people”!!
      School = (Train)
      Practice = (Prepare)
      Focus Awareness = (Ready)

  • JHR February 12, 2016, 11:33 am

I’ve seen a few science fiction movies that used smart rifles as props and the relm of science fiction is where the idea should stay.

  • Timbo February 12, 2016, 10:37 am

Beware the “smart” gun push. There’s a reason these anti-2nd Amendment scum want us to only own these types of guns. It’s because these “smart” guns will have a back-door switch in that they can be shut off in masse by RFID technology or an EMP attack and they know it.

  • Mike February 12, 2016, 10:36 am

    DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Winston February 12, 2016, 10:15 am

VP Biden’s murderous arsonists and mercenaries in Ukraine and Syria do not carry smart guns as they carry out their ethnic cleansing and execution policy of civilians.

  • BR549 February 12, 2016, 10:06 am

Hey Joe, can you explain why the Sandy Hook Elementary School hadn’t been using any internet bandwidth since 2008? Or why there was a contract for a large number of Port-A-Johns to be placed in the parking lot of the Fire Station at the head of the road that morning? No, I didn’t think so. The school was CLOSED in 2008.

  • elwoodsneed February 12, 2016, 9:54 am

way to ironic, a dumb ass talking about smart guns. i doubt if biden has the brain power to operate a smart gun. i doubt if he could access the salutation and determain if a gun was needed in a timely manner. nope sorry this guy’s advice is about a good as someone telling you to step into the rattlesnake pen cause you have an itch on your ankle.

  • tomlightfield February 12, 2016, 9:31 am

How about a vice president with half a brain??

    • David February 12, 2016, 9:48 am

      Joe only has one half.

      • Chuck February 14, 2016, 2:25 pm

        …and it’s the half that’s non-functional!

  • Jay February 12, 2016, 8:42 am

    • AN February 12, 2016, 9:37 am

Could not agree with this any more! Maybe I’ll consider it when the technology is actually reliable. Even then, there are many factors that can cause it to fail. If you need a “smart” gun, you’re a “dumb” ass.

      • Johnh February 12, 2016, 10:44 am

If you shoot right handed and something happens to your right hand and you need your gun, your smart gun just got you killed. You can’t shoot it with the left hand.

    • BR549 February 12, 2016, 10:11 am

If it can be manufactured, it can be hacked. Of course if a gun is stolen and that happens, whatever excuse there is for law enforcement will be saying that only the owner could have fired it and he must be GUILTY.

Joe, go back to your geriatric unit; I hear they’re serving Jello today.

  • MagnumOpUS February 12, 2016, 8:19 am

We don’t need smart guns, just properly trained and educated gun owners, and elected representatives (I hate using the term ‘leaders’ these days) who don’t have tyrannical tendencies.

  • Eric X Equis February 12, 2016, 7:48 am

First… any article with “Joe Biden” and “smart” should be immediately dismissed… however, this one brings up an important point.
Do you have a fingerprint lockout on your phone or car? How well does that work? Enough to use or call 911 in an emergency? No, didn’t think so.
How about that “bump in the night”… will you take the 4-10 seconds it takes to put a watch on just to get your gun to work to protect your family? Really? Will you have someone make him coffee while you are fumbling to “activate” your defensive tool, too? No… didn’t think so.
Just more stupid, pie-in-the-sky advice from the same old crazy uncle Joe that told you to “blast a double-barrel shotgun through the front door at an intruder” …or something like that.
I wonder if ole crazy uncle Joe’s bodyguards will use this technology first… anyone wanna place bets on it?

  • MeMikeT February 12, 2016, 7:41 am

If technology could produce the smartest gun ever, couldn’t the same technology produce a remote that could turn it on and off? Technology is not exclusive to the so called ‘good people’. Also I believe there are over five hundred million stupid guns out there, not including military and police. That tells me there will always, at least for a long, long, long, time, be stupid guns available to the bad people to kill the good (stupid) people. Any thoughts on a smart knife?

  • DaveWI February 12, 2016, 7:30 am

What about the fact there are no smart guns available at all anywhere? Even if I wanted one, and I don’t, I can’t buy one. Fix that stupid new jersey law and don’t create any more like it and maybe manufacturers would make a reliable smart gun, but don’t expect anyone to develop them with a political gun to thier head. The free market is pretty clear about shit products, right now, smart guns are shit and will be until politicians get out of the way.

  • Chad J. February 12, 2016, 7:29 am

Once the U.S. Secret Service, the FBI, the BATFE, the Capitol Police, the U.S. Armed Forces, and in general, EVERY branch and subdivision of federal, state, county, and municipal government arms itself with “Smart Guns” and lead by example as to the reliability of “Smart Guns” will they stand a chance of even persuading American gun owners to even LISTEN to their advice. The fact that NONE of those entities have or will have “Smart Guns” is proof positive that they want Americans to be able to buy ONLY firearms that INFERIOR and LESS DEPENDABLE than those in the hands of government. That is totally contrary to the spirit and the letter of the 2nd Amendment.

    • William Bolton February 12, 2016, 11:09 am

Not just the guns in the hands of government thugs, but guns in the hands of islamic terrorists.

  • krinkov February 12, 2016, 6:47 am

Smart gun Dumb vice president. Makes sense.

  • Roger February 12, 2016, 6:47 am

Joe Biden is a buffoon. He never even handled a gun in his life, much less shoot one or own one. He has no business giving anyone advice on guns or gun ownership. As a reminder- we can not be complacent. We need to be proactive in ensuring our interests and rights remain intact. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_m7lJ8bWBE&feature=youtu.be

  • Bill February 12, 2016, 6:21 am

The only reason the government is pushing for smart gun technology so hard is not for safety!!!!!! The technology that enables it to only be used by the owner can also; with the right government technology be shut down permanently. Think about how that could benefit our government in certain times of crisis. This is the truth behind Smart Guns, don’t go there.
    IN THE KNOW

    • Smoke Hill Farm February 13, 2016, 3:58 am

It’s going to be hard enough to keep enough extra parts to keep regular firearms working in a long-term Zombie Apocalypse. Adding some dumb-a$$ sensors into the equation, keeping in mind that they’ll most likely be made in China?

      I don’t think so.

  • Chief February 12, 2016, 6:20 am

I need gun advice from Biden like I need dating advice from Bill Cosby.

  • RetNavet February 12, 2016, 5:47 am

The word “smart” and the name “Joe Biden” should never be used in the same article

  • Draciron Smith February 12, 2016, 5:39 am

It’s not that smart guns are impractical, which they are. Even if you could actually rely on a smart gun, and could rely on the government not running around broadcasting frequencies which lock your gun. Think about the back doors required in encryption algorithms by the Clinton administration and how Clinton jailed the author of PGP for refusing. Then think about back doors in smart guns that allow cops, and before long anybody else who figures it out to disable your gun. So even if we could rely on a smart gun which we cannot, it’s still a matter of principle and practicality.

For example, just because it’s YOUR gun, that doesn’t mean your buddy doesn’t need to pick it up to shoot the bear that is making a snack out of you. Are you going to ask the bear to stop eating you while you reprogram your rifle so your buddy can shoot it? Are you going to ask an intruder to hold on a minute s you can come home because your gun cannot be fired by your wife to defend herself and the kids? Smart guns simply are not practical in principle, much less practice.

More importantly, smart guns violate the concept of self determination which is the underlying principle the 1st and 2nd Amendments are built upon. We have rights and freedoms, and with those, we are entrusted to exercise them in a proper fashion. If we fail to do so, we as individuals who fail to do so are to be prosecuted by Constitutional and legal means. Attacks on freedom of speech and to bear arms are attacks which adjudge one guilty without even holding a trial. We are assumed to be bad and to be of malicious intent as a group. Our individuality and our right to abuse our rights and privileges are abridged. Sometimes acting illegally is the right thing to do. If our founding fathers had not done so, there’d be no Constitution to protect. If striking miners hadn’t done so, there’d be no 40 hour work week. In instance after instance, sometimes Americans have had to stand up and take up arms against oppression, tyranny and corruption. It is the final check and balance in our system of checks and balances. We as an individual have as our most sacred right, the right to conceive, hold and defend our beliefs, even if that can sometimes be contrary to law and societies prevailing opinions.

    Drac

    • Pat February 12, 2016, 9:04 am

Drac. Over time, I have almost stopped reading posts responding to anything from anti-gun proponents because they almost always fall into one, or a combination of several categories. Angry, knee jerk, insulting, with constantly repeated cliches, and/or the trigger happy types of responses that only serve to portray them as the the type of gun owners that probably shouldn’t own a gun and only reinforce the anti-gunners feelings that they are right and all gun owners are the same.
Yours on the other hand is an intelligent, logical, well thought out and well written post. It’s a refreshing change and I wish there were more responses like this from responsible gun owners.
      Thanks for surprising me.

      • Smoke Hill Farm February 13, 2016, 4:04 am

You’re right – it IS a well-written post. But I see little reason to be polite to the rabid zealots who troll sites like this just to annoy gun owners. If they’re polite and respectful, so am I. But if they just repeat the same old lies and ignorant propaganda, I have no qualms about calling them stupid and ripping them a new one. You aren’t going to persuade these freaks with rational arguments anyhow.

  • Old Curmudgeon February 12, 2016, 4:25 am

There is no way I would trust my life to this unproven technology. It would also prevent a family member from defending themself if they didn’t have the magic device to make it work. Might as well file the front sight completely off so it doesn’t hurt so much when the bad guy takes the malfunctioning weapon from you and shoves it up your a$$!!!

  • Pat Bryan February 12, 2016, 4:14 am

If by chance the only gun in the room was a “smart” gun, and an active shooter walked in and plugged the gun’s owner, and I picked up that pistol, I would be doubly screwed: waving a gun I could not shoot. There are a lot of gun safety tips and tricks. “Smart” tech is not one of them. Personally I pack a DAO with an empty chamber. Everyone packing is responsible that his sidearm does not get dropped, mishandled, stolen or endanger the public.

  • Chuck Roast February 11, 2016, 8:51 pm

Bless Joe’s little pea pickin’ heart. He means well, but unfortunately he is intellectually vapid, and allows those around him who are noted socialist/stae
tist/autocrats to do everything they can to destroy America. A little bit of ignorance/stupidity/ goes a long way.

  • Mike February 11, 2016, 11:49 am

A man took Joe’s advice & fired his shotgun to scare off would be robbers.Well the police have arrested the man.He told them shotgun Joe said he could do what he did.But they did not agree with Joe’s advice. And told him it may have worked out if he had been Vice President when he fired the shot.Moral,do not take shotgun Joe’s gun advice!

  • Luap February 10, 2016, 4:40 am

If guns kill people… I guess that means pencils miss spell words, cars drive drunk, and spoons make people fat.

  • Mark N. February 10, 2016, 1:43 am

Nice picture. Shouldn’t someone have clued Joe into the fact that the Umarex (a) was produced only in .22, (b) was extremely expensive, approaching nearly $2000 when the necessary watch is purchased, and most importantly (c) is no longer manufactured as the manufacturer has filed for bankruptcy in Germany. (Guess it couldn’t sell them there either.) Fact is, there isn’t a smart gun on the market today, and manufacturers have a distinct disincentive to produce them, knowing that the gun banners will demand that all guns employ such technology once it becomes available (ala New Jersey).

If Biden things that smart guns are such a great idea for everyone else, how about if he demands that his Secret Service detail carry only smart guns? My response to him? “You first.”

Here here! Smart guns for all government security forces! Thanks for the awesome advice Joe! I’m sure our military would apply that quickly! Just think, their captors could never shoot them with their own guns anymore! Oh wait… you mean all they need is the matching watch to make it work? Take my watch AND my gun? By the way, the company is Armatix not Umarex… We are referring to lethal guns right? Every watch I’ve ever owned (admittedly, they weren’t anything near a Rolex) failed at one point or another. I’d be hard pressed to bet my defensive needs on a frail watch. And… I’m sure nobody, absolutely nobody has ever had any malfunctions with any devices using radio frequency transmission. The gun must also be within 10″ of the watch… hmmm, 10″ of unobscured space? What if my watch is on my dominant arm, yet my gun can only be fired from my non-dominant hand one-handed? Heck, my arms are longer than 10″!!! Last but certainly not least, the Armatix iP1 is a .22 Long Rifle! Yes, .22. A whole whopping 40 grains of 1080fps stopping power… Compare that with a .45 ACP that sports a matching velocity yet 200 grains of bullet. Hey Joe, ever hear of Taylor KO Factor? Let’s compare that iP1 .22 with a combat .45…. the TKOF of the iP1 .22 is 1.36 while that of a proven defense pistol (1911 .45) is 13.92! How about that 9mm with a TKOF of 7.17? Yeah Joe, let’s defend ourselves with a $1700 prone to failure technology with the smallest stopping power. Great advice Joe…

Too bad we can’t use the same technology for politicians. Press a button to turn ’em on and press a button to shut ’em up. Wouldn’t that be nice!!!

      Well said.

Smart guns are a dumb idea to use right now. The technology isn’t sound and the guns are way too expensive. Uncle Joe needs to keep his mouth shut about things he doesn’t know. Remember this is the same guy that thinks that my petite wife can use a double barrel 12g without breaking her shoulder. Also firing a gun in Michigan in the way that he recommends is a felony. So Uncle Joe can just keep his lips pasted to Odumbos rear where they belong and just shut the hell up. LEAVE OUR RIGHTS ALONE!!!!!!

Smart guns are great until your battery dies, then you die. No thanks Joe, I’ll just keep my dumb gun. Though it is an incredibly stupid gun, it has never jumped up and started firing on its own.
