Jocko: Some Gun Laws Are Stupid

in 2nd Amendment – R2KBA, Current Events, This Week

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

In a recent episode of the Jocko Underground Podcast, host Jocko Willink and co-host Echo Charles embark on a candid discussion about firearms.

They start with a shout out to the famous H&K MP5 submachine gun. Jocko reminisces about his time with SEAL Teams, where they heavily utilized H&K weapons.

He highlights the MP5 as a top choice for home defense due to its accuracy and because the right 9mm ammo won’t over penetrate.

The conversation takes a turn towards California’s gun laws, which Jocko and Echo criticize for their lack of practicality and understanding of firearms.

Echo points out how some rules are based on a superficial understanding of guns, leading to pointless regs.

Jocko illustrates this by discussing the absurdity of the law against pistol grips in California. Manufacturers simply alter the design minimally to comply, rendering even the spirit of the law ineffective.

He criticizes the lawmakers for not understanding the basics of firearms, noting how easily criminals can modify a gun to circumvent these rules.

The duo also delves into the perception of guns, with Echo mentioning how certain firearms are deemed “menacing” based solely on their appearance, irrespective of their functionality.

They argue that this superficial approach underscores just how clueless politicians are when it comes to guns.

Jocko concludes this part of the chat by questioning the real intent behind such laws.

“I’m not even sure they know what they’re trying to accomplish,” says Jocko. “You know, often it’s said that what they’re trying to accomplish, is just no one can have any guns…”

Well, what can we say except, Jocko’s not wrong. Gun control fundamentally targets the wrong group: it disarms the law-abiding, not the criminals.

As a 43 yr. LEO, twice retired, the gun problems and crime problems are proven to be solved easily. ENFORCE THE DAMNED LAWS ON THE BOOKS! Jailed criminals cannot commit crimes while locked up. The left has proven themselves to be nothing but pinko communists wanting to reduce the common people to surfs and the only people with power will be the politicians. Our 2nd Amendment was written to protect the common man from these imbeciles and I pray it doesn’t come to proving the Founding Fathers to be wise beyónd their years.
