Going to SHOT Show and not reaching out to the motor city madman, Ted Nugent, is like attending a carnival and not eating the fried dough. Yeah, you could still ride the rides, play the games and check out the attractions, but without getting your hands on some calorie-rich, deep-fried goodness that’s been seasoned with cinnamon and blanketed in powdered sugar you’re ultimately left wanting. Yes, it’s indulgent and unnecessary, but (to stick with another food metaphor) like the proverbial icing on the cake it totally enhances the experience. At the carnival, it’s good to eat the dough.
So, below is our brief interview with the Nuge, we hope that it helps to make our coverage of the show all the more satisfying and entertaining:
S.H. Blannelberry: As the nature of conflict is change — wars are no longer waged in a single location by large armies, instead, a single person or a small group carries out an attack on an unsuspecting and often unprepared civilian population, e.g. the recent attacks in Paris — is the right to carry firearms for self-defense outside the home even more important today than it has been in the past? What do you tell people who are on the fence about obtaining a CCW?
Uncle Ted: I have been sounding the counter-brainwashing alarm for many, many years now in my numerous writings, media interviews, public appearances and from the rock-n-roll stage. Unarmed and helpless is pathetically unarmed and helpless and a suicidal irresponsible choice any way you cut it. The sad state of self-inflicted dependency in this embarrassing “we the sheeple” curse must come to a screeching halt ASAP. Who in their right mind can witness the nonstop tsunami of news stories around the world where unarmed and helpless people are slaughtered like sheep by barely trained voodoo nutjobs? My brain rejects such disconnect and foolishness. Thank God we see a meaningful increase in armed citizens ready to neutralize evil when it rears its ugly head in our vicinity. The only good bad guy is a dead bad guy, and the good guys better be ready to rock.
S.H. Blannelberry: On a similar topic, to what extent should we blame soft targets, gun-free zones for the death of innocents at the hands of evildoers and terrorists?
Uncle Ted: It is not the soft-targets per se, but rather the mindless obedience of a once rough and tumble, touch and capable society gone the way of politically correct pussies. Invite me and it is no longer a gunfreezone. Gunfreezones are the playground of evildoers. Shut it down.
S.H. Blannelberry: Not everyone is a fan of your rock-n-roll laced rhetoric, specifically the mainstream media. It appears they would prefer you to speak in a “calm tone” and a “diplomatic fashion,” basically they want you to sound like every other talking head on TV. Why do you refuse to be politically correct? Put another way, what do you say to your media critics?
Uncle Ted: Anyone who would take such proven idiotic direction from proven idiotic losers deserves to lose this culture war and get trampled underfoot. It is in fact a culture war, not a culture discussion. Hardcore take no prisoners confrontational politics is the only way to crush the America hating liberal punks. Either fight to win or get out of our way.

S.H. Blannelberry: Bill-ary Clinton aka Hillary Clinton will likely run in 2016. She may win. Looking ahead, does she present an existential threat to the 2A? Do you believe she is even more anti-gun than Obama/Holder?
Uncle Ted: Clearly her track record is not ambiguous. She is a bad, bad person who represents the Obama/Holder et al. attack on the very precepts of an experiment in self-government. She stands for everything antiAmerican and must be defeated. Let us pray and fight with all our might that the November GOP wave meant something of substance to keep such people out of leadership positions.
S.H. Blannelberry: What are your thoughts on the ATF’s letter concerning stabilizing braces?
Uncle Ted: I am heartbroke by the level of US Constitution violating criminality of our government overall, and the DOJ as mislead by our gunrunning attorney general specifically. The runaway and blatant infringements on our 2nd Amendment guarantees will go down in history as the embarrassing and definitive sheeping of the American public that it is. The time is past that we the people raise adequate hell with our elected employees to change course and rid our country of these abuses and the abusers ASAP. God knows I am doing everything in my power to do so.
S.H. Blannelberry: Anything we should keep an eye out for at SHOT this year? Any guns, gear, ammo or optics that you’re excited about seeing?
Uncle Ted: We here at the Nugent Ranch consider the SHOT show the Shooting Hunting Outdoor Ted show, so the sporting goods/firepower/hardware orgy will rage on in that not so quiet night I am assured. These are the good old days of sporting goods, guns, ammo and allthings outdoor fun stuff. I remained bleary eyed throughout the SHOT show hanging with my BloodBrothers and fondling drygoods. It is one of the highlights of my year.

This is 2017, why am I reading material that was produced in 2014?
Our overlords are obviously and intentionally destroying, weakening, and dividing the economy and the USA by punishing hard work with regulations and taxes and rewarding laziness with welfare while promoting illegal immigration, free trade, feminism, homosexuality, moral decay, drugs, wars, the minimum wage, political correctness, debt, gun control, and the nanny police state.
Once the country is destroyed and the poor become too much of a burden on the rich, the elites will soon say Capitalism failed to justify turning the US into a hardcore Communist state. Americans will then be sent to concentration camps and starved and killed so the 1% can divide the wealth and land among themselves.
Wake up. How else can you explain why the government is doing the opposite of every logical action to help the economy? Economics isn’t rocket science. If you want to boost the economy and nation, don’t allow millions of cheap illegal immigrants to flood the country, offshore jobs to 3rd world countries, punish hard work with taxes and regulations, and reward laziness with welfare.
Sadly Americans won’t realize what is happening until it is too late.

Mike M. – while some of what you say is true, I pray you hear me clearly, because it is from the heart. The people in your immediate area of influence should see by the life YOU lead before them, that “we” are not all “crazy militia types who murder cops”. Stereotypes are broken down by the same thing that wins the hearts and minds of the mislead sheeple… truth. How does that quote go? Oh yeah, “I was waiting for someone to do something, then I realized that I am someone.” Be the change, brother. My kids and grandkids DO deserve better. So I teach, preach, interact – and give them the truth. If you aren’t part of the solution, you’re part of the problem. Get out from behind keyboard pontificating, and so something positive to make a difference. Lead, follow, or get out of the way. But do something… Ted may be imperfect, but he is out there speaking. And, you are…. what?
I’m a fan of Ted since his days with the Amboyd Duks. His guitar rips like an M-16. People who hunt their own meat and grow their own vegetables are people who respect the cycle of life. Ted may be loud and speak in public with the expeletives we use in private, but he is the “town cryer” for what most us as Americans know and believe. Thank God for preachers like Ted.
There goes Ted again, another eloquent statement from the Motor City Madman. I think the leaders we pick to speak for us have an impact on achieving our goal of just being left alone to enjoy our guns. I enjoy target shooting. My pass time is in jeopardy mainly because of crazies who bring carnage and unspeakable terror right into our elementary schools. To most women that’s reason enough to ban firearms. I do think that concealed carry does ward off terrorism. I think our messengers may be our problem. Between Ted and Alex Jones we look like crazy militia types who murder cops without regard to reason. Among people we need on our side those guys scare the shit out of them. Some will never be on our side and these messengers turn millions more away from us. Enjoy your hyper partisan future folks. Our kids deserve better.

As a fellow life member of the NRA (before becoming a life member wasn’t a fund raising campaign) I’m thankful Ted Nugent made his way onto the public domain demonstrating long hair doesn’t hide a leather neck when he appeared with Kurt Gowdy on American Sportsman, clearly showing his true colors as one of diehard hunters and defenders of the 2nd Amendment. He is as frank, quick and articulate as they come and I’m glad he’s able to voice many of the same opinions and non-PC discussions that the Pers Morgan and Michael Moorw’s of the blathering-head world need to have thrown back in their face. Every time Uncle Ted appears somewhere, the crowds are so deep and his time so limited, I’ve never been able to shake his hand and thank him personally for all the good work he does us!

Hey Ted, anyone that diminishes even one word of the 2nd Amendment is deserving of what they get in return. I have been working in the LE field for coming up on 20 years and I have never arrested anyone who could lawfully own a firearm. Take care Ted.
