If you lost or damaged your License to Carry a Handgun (LTC) or your Private Security Board License during the wrath of Hurricane Harvey, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has you covered.
Gov. Abbott has instructed the Texas Department of Public Safety to replace gun permits to any resident who had their cards lost or damaged in the storm.
“As Texas begins the recovery process, we are prepared to respond to a wide range of issues to help victims of this Hurricane,” said Governor Abbott. “By eliminating burdensome fees to replace these important licenses, Texans can focus on rebuilding their lives and communities.”
The cost to replace an LTC is $25 and the cost to replace a PSB is $15. Those fees will be waived for residents who live in the counties that were issued a gubernatorial disaster declaration.
To replace either your LTC or PSB, one must contact the Regulatory Services Division at 512-424-7293. This cannot be done online. Cardholders will need to show proof of identity.
