Nosler Model 48 Mountain Carbon Rifle – SHOT Show 2019

The bolt and magazine of the M48.

After several years of waiting and watching the market, Nosler has seen fit to throw their industry expertise into the lightweight, mountain-hunting rifle arena. They conferred with barrel and stock manufacturers specializing in the lightweight niche, and the Model 48 Mountain Carbon was born.

The rifle’s foundation is the Nosler M48 action with a Timney trigger with a two position safety. The Mountain Carbon keeps an eye towards all-weather durability and use, the action and hinged floor plate are Cerakoted Tungsten Grey, and the forend and palm swell are textured for sure handling in nasty weather.

It has a 24-inch carbon fiber-reinforced light Sendero contour barrel complete with a threaded muzzle. It is glass and aluminum pillar-bedded to a 100 percent carbon fiber Aramid-reinforced Mountain Hunter stock with a Granite Green finish. The most exciting part is that it weighs in at an even 6 pounds. To top it all off, Nosler guarantees sub-MOA accuracy with their ammunition.

The Mountain Carbon has a suggested MSRP of $3,140 and is available for purchase now.
